KKF is badass! Only reason I sold mine is because it's also contained within the Armageddon clone I picked up and shit got redundant.kbithecrowing wrote:Ever time I'm like "maybe I should sell the KKF" I plug it in and go "why the fuck would I sell this?"
It has soooooo much low end it's awesome.

Well I clicked buy on a DBA micro harmonic transformer today. Hope its good! Been about a week and a half with the supersonic fuzz gun and I am still finding great sounds in it.

Re: Death By Audio love?
My DBA Apocalypse is by far my favorite pedal ever and is a total keeper for life.
Although expensive, it covers SO much ground.
Only downside is that the fucker is LOUD. Like volume between 0-2 on some settings but it sounds BETTER when you make it louder. I fear for my amp sometimes feeding it such a high output but it is always well worth it.
Take this with a grain of salt as I have the kind of lame bandmates that act all pissy when shit gets too loud and rowdy at practice.
Anyways the thing I noticed about this pedal and the fuzz war is that they actually cut through a mix really well, and the frequency knob on the Apocalypse can really make a huge difference as far as bass response/mid boost/cut in a mix. It is also so aggressive for a fuzz, which I love. Smooth fuzz can be very weak sounding in certain band applications but this thing does almost any fuzz sound just pissed off sounding. Also very responsive to your volume knob. Doesn't always necessarily "clean up" when your volume is turned down but it does let you access a ton more fuzz sounds.
I have had this thing for a long time and still find cool new sounds all the time. I love it.
I also have a total chub for an Echo Dream 2. Does anyone know if the Fuzz is post or pre delay on the ED2?

Is there a real danger in the high volume of the DBA pedals affecting your amplifier or what?

+1
Although you may need to watch out for shit in your pants.......if you crank your amp and forget to set the output of the pedal near unity

I have one called Full Range Sonic Assault that I imagine is close to the two combined.the5chord wrote:Teej212 wrote:after seeing whats inside these pedals i can not like them. its a disgrace that they charge 300+ dollars for a sound that you can get for a third of the price and with much better build quality.
What other pedal are you going to get that does what the harmonic transformer does or supersonic fuzz gun? Yeah they are simple and the parts do not cost that much but as a guitar player why would you care? Beyond the concern that the pedal isn't going to fall apart what you really care about is the sound and these guys seem to be producing pedals that make sounds no one else's pedals do.
The SSFG is a modded fuzz face so I didn't play with that one too much but The Full Range Sonic Assault is like a Harmonic Transformer with all the bells and whistles. It RIPS, super harsh and tasty...

Was that a custom one off? Doesn't seem to be much around on that pedal.

There were three made. The guys at DBA have one, I have one, and Hugh Manson (the guy who builds the guitars for MUSE) had one.

Looks interesting. Too bad they aren't making custom pedals right now.

You can still try emailing them. What I've heard happens is that, if Oliver answers you'll get it, but if Matt answers you try again until Oliver answers.the5chord wrote:Looks interesting. Too bad they aren't making custom pedals right now.
