Fuck yes.
So I immediately open it up and I get this beautiful handwritten note from one Dazza-matazz on top, some stickers, and this metal box with a gorilla on it, and then I go plug it straight in.
Fuck you, Darren. I was nearly late for work.
I was only gonna play for ten minutes before I had to go. Half an hour later I was shitting myself and breaking every traffic law we got to get to work on time.
Fuck that thing is awesome.
Just,
Fuck.

Told ya, Such a killer pedal and it def has its own sound.

Im practically crippled feeling today. Ms. Dunwich got me to join up at her crossfit box and today was my 2nd workout at 6:30 am. Working out at 6:30 am is not stoner/doom. I need a refresh so I bring you this song.
That stuff is killer, but if you stick with it you will get results fast!
Sometimes I miss working out, but when I think about getting up early to do it, not so much
I dont know if they still do it but I think I remember heariing that you could get in touch with the guy and put in requests and he'd get them to make it for you. Worth a shot anyways

I wouldn't mind doing some crossfit. I have been running and doing pullups but I haven't really dropped any weight yet. Still hovering around 230. I wanna drop down around 215 - 220. I worked out and ate better before and when I weighed 220 I just felt better overall and had lots more energy.
Buried at Sea rules, as does the logo in your sig.
Got the HumX in the mail today. Can't wait to try it out at practice. now I just have to figure out how to route my board. I've been kind of thinking that I'd like to run everything besides my Revelation into one amp and leave the other dry. Will that be a pain in the ass or is it worth it?

For me I am trying to improve my fitness and strength over weight loss although I would like to lose some weight 2 and drop down to 185 from ~195 right now. The whole thing is killer on my body, but the pain now from being sore should improve over time.
Thanks for the compliments on the logo, due to obvious issues I didnt post it in here and lately I have not been on top of posting stuff in the shark tank either. Its a new logo that Chris/Earthward drew up for me for future shirts, and amps. Im killer happy.
You can route your amp setup like that of course, phase issues are going to become possible issues, not sure.

Do be careful with the crossfit stuff. It does tend to have a pretty intense effect short term in terms of weight loss and strength gains, but I've heard some nasty things about long term joint and skeletal health.

yea that is usually the 1 complaint I heard from other people. Injuries can be tough and you need to balance your push with some sensibility. Also the coaches you have in each box will shape that. The one reason I like the current place is that the coaches are very good at making sure you are working properly. Its a small crossfit box right now so the coaches know your name and your strengths/weakness

I've got the HumX in hopes that I can run it without having to use my Bigshot since the amps will be on all the time with no switching between them. I can't remember how I have the phase switched on the Bigshot so I dunno if it is switched to correct the phase or if it is fine without it. I'll know tomorrow though.

if you run a pedal in one line and not in the other you could have some odd phase, honestly not sure until you plug in ya know

why not just leave the bigshot there? in case phase issues come up? is it the board space you're concerned about? i've been curious about those humx's myself. you'll be the first person i know who actually has one.

I never switch between amps and I have accidentally hit the switches on it at practice so the HumX would eliminate that. Plus I really don't wanna run it off to the side of my board and would have to kick a pedal off in order to fit it on there.

So I think I'm gonna a save money and find a jazzmaster that sounds awesome. I would save and get another RD but once it's fine its gone and no matter which one it is, it will never be the same. Is there really anything that special about old jazzys? Also skully I know you have one, how does it sound for some droney/doom stuff

For Doom / Drone I would suggest either the Squier J Mascis or the Fender Classic Player models. They both have hardtail bridges which eliminates most of the bridge issues of the old designs and allows for a better intonation range, along with having p90 style pickups which are hotter and a bit fuller then regular jazzmaster humbuckers. Also if you get one try and find a metal pickguard and use copper tape to line the entire route under the pickguard to help eliminate noise and feedback. I've had quite a few and they're nice guitars, I just never use the trem so I switched to telemasters for the hardtail bridge with string through body routing.

I freaking love Jazzmasters. I really, really missed having one for the longest time. Just something about them, not sure if it's the trem, or the rythm circuit, or the pickups or what but it's my main player along with my hardtail Jaguar.
The Mascis is a pretty solid choice for a doommaster, with the p90 style pickups and all, and it's already got the metal pickguard which is less work to have to do. Simple bridge swap (Mastery or Staytrem), thicker strings, and you should be good to go.
So I've got the Jazzmaster that I really don't put past drop D because of the slightly wonky neck, but I've got a Blacktop Jaguar that was my main player for years before I got this most recent Jazzmaster. The Blacktop Jaguar has .13's on it right now, TOM bridge, tuned to F#. I should probably go up to .14's, but it's like butter right now. Another solid choice for an offset. I put a Phat Cat P90 into it, took out the neck pickup. A real player!

Oof is the feedback and noise a big issue? I really wouldn't like to have a problem with that and I kinda wanted to have just a tort pickgaurd. I was original going to get a used VM jazzy and install new pickup and a mastery bridge but I guess this probably would be just as good
I actually don't play doom like most, I only detune half a step, and I don't need anything too metal as I do the whole vintage woody sound I guess. I just want something that won't feedback like crazy or sound muffled or overly bright in a way. I don't have working so I cant try anything at the moment. My RD had kinda fendery specs in some sense so I just wanted pick something similar haha

I guess I'm kind of odd in that I LOVE feedback, but I've honestly noticed that I can make the humbucker in my Jazzmaster sustain feedback more than the single coil in it. There is a little buzzing of course, even with the aluminum guard, but it really, really helps to have the aluminum pickguard or at least super shielded on the inside. As soon as I put the aluminum guard on this Jazzmaster the noise level was cut probably by 70%.
The VM Jazzies are awesome. I had an Olympic white one that I converted to a Baritone. Man I loved that thing...
