Well... since we're 69 pages in (giggity) and only kinda on topic, let's talk about crowdfunding.
What do you all think of it?
When it's appropriate?
When's it not?
What are some crowdfunds you've recently contributed to?
EDIT: While I typed this we got 70 pages in. Giggity retracted.

I can't believe she's doing a crowd fund and people actually contributed. Fucking morons. I'm sorry, but if you put money in, you're a goddamn idiot. With her track record, you might as well throw that shit in a trash can.
I'm so fucking tired of paying for shit up front in general. Starting to have a HUGE distrust for a lot of builders in general. Separate issue than here, but it's fucking annoying.

Also, I want to note that her links for the demos of the pedals she's releasing are fucking Devi Ever Fx pedals. She's still being a thief and just changing the name.
How much money would it take to sue her? I'm wiling to start a fund raiser.

i saw this a few days ago...so true...now thats a cause worth supporting.
on the topic of crowdfunding...you need to separate the bullshit from the real investments...
the bullshit is people who have no idea how to run a business, and who would have never got any kind of funding from investors or banks (because they shouldnt) looking at this souce as a quick rich scheme to fund their dreams. only to realise; a) they have no idea how to run a business and b) running your own business is one of the hardest things to succeed on. Most fail and people who invest will lose their money.
On the other hand, you have some really good businesses and people who can run a business well and will most likely survive and succeed...but these guys dont have the connections to the investor world and use this as a first stepping stone. They dont go to banks, mainly because they havent got capital to put in, and Banks are generally more conservative these days and will not give loans to businesses in new innovation areas.

I would donate to this. Through all of this bullshit the one constant is that the real victims of Devi don't have the means to take the issue to court and I just don't see any other way to make her go away.
As a human being who works a fulltime job 40 hours a week and makes pedals as a passion/hobby/fledgling business on the side I find Devi's actions and attitude reprehensible in every way.
You want to make pedals again as a business? Buy it back from the people who built it back up from shit rather than dishonor the non-compete clause that YOU signed.
You need capital? Get a loan or a credit card.
Can't get one because your previous misadventures fucked your credit? Gather any last bit of pride and decency you have left and get a fucking job to EARN the money.

900 dollars just like that. Kerching! You have to hand it to Devi, the few remaining months she has left pretending she makes pedals is cashing out. Kudos!
From "20 grand a month" to probably working in Starbucks. Makes you wonder why you'd sell your pedal business and then stomp your feet when they didn't just hand it back.

Why on earth are people donating.
I feel bad for Devi but in a "get to a hospital" way not "here have some money".
