This. I have only heard the song in the video, but I'm a big fan already. It reminds me of how much I still want/need an octave pedal.
It is!!1 I'll try to get a demo recorded this weekend or next week using it pre and post dirt.
Yup, its giving me some octave pedal gas as well. Not sure how it would mix in my style but would be fun to play around with.
That would be awesome. I really like Jack's work, I just haven't had the opportunity to buy any of his stuff yet.
As far as octave pedals, I pretty apologetically love CKY. So that's pretty much what I'd be doing with it. DEM OCTAVE RIFFS

being lefty fucking sucks. The bass i wanted sold... looks like I'm putting my money down on an EGC bass because I'm tired of looking for lefty basses haha.
Literally ALL of my favourite basses don't come in lefty. RAAAAAAH!!
oh well, egc finally! (as soon as I sell my amp)

I wish I could buy your amp but the only way I could is buy selling my or120 which seems redundant lol

And Ax, I decided to go with dimarzios again becase they sound great and are fairly cheap for seven string pickups. I got the PAF7 again for the neck and this time I figured I would try their blaze neck pickup for the bridge position. Their website suggested using it like that as it will be like a paf but with a little more juice. I have an air norton 7 in the semi hollow right now and it is alright but it is kinda trebly so I wanted to try something a bit different. We shall see if I accomplish that goal.
You sexy beast, you.
I think I had Dimarzio PAF7s in my Ibanez Apex II 7-string. They were very soft and gentle sounding. I dug that about them. They were clear, airy and bright. You needed a highly distorted amp to get them cookin', though, so in the end I sold the guitar. I barely played 7-string guitars any more, anyway, and struggled to get along with the Wizard neck profile.
dazedbyday wrote:So Beast in the Field just released a new video for a song off their new album coming out. Since you guys dug the last one I figured I would share it here:

Dang, that sounds ENORMOUS!
Speaking of octave pedals, I picked up a MIJ Boss OC-2 for a decent price. I really like it. I might have someone build me a new box and etch the fuck out of it. We'll see. I have a few pedals I want etching and modifying so I might send it to DannyW, jwar, LaoWiz or our own Doom Roomer etcher in one go.

I'd love to have a good female vocalist. I'm in love with how Uta Plotkin from Witch Mountain sounds.

Awesome man i hope you can get her worked in!! I'd be excited to be here what she adds!!!
Thanks man!!! I dunno if it will be daddy energy, more like a somber release of pent up stress and frustration combined with the depression of dealing with it. It will be dark, it will be heavy, and it will be grindy at points.

I've been impressed with his vids and was really excited to try one out, and so far I'm very pleased.
No need to apologize for liking CKY!!! They're actually what lead to me finding out about QOTSA, still enjoy me some CKY every once in a while.

Thanks duder! Good to be back in the doom-bro circle.
Although since I disappeared offline for a while I've only bought one pedal. Thankfully I have a decent job now so let the gear flow!

Welcome to the seven string world skip. Good to see you are already being hooked.
Glad you guys are digging that beast in the field. I found out about them randomly through the doom metal reddit. I have liked everything they have released for their new album so far. But to tell you guys the truth, I downloaded their older albums and they are ok but not super great. Nothing really caught me like the two new songs. So I am really excited for their new albumb.
And why thank you Goldfish. I always try to bring the sexy. I decided to try for the full beard rather then just my normal goatee. But to give it a twist I shaved my upper lip. I have been called wolverine by two different co-workers so far because of it.
And I really enjoy the paf in the neck position. It is smooth and has a nice lowend which helps because my bass player will play up the neck sometimes and I can bang out some low notes to cover that range. It also helps with the softer stuff that we play. I also installed the dimarzio blaze in the bridge position and it sounds good so far. Definetely not as nasal as the air norton in the other guitar. Now I just need the mailman to get here and bring me the other god damn pickup and the guitar might be ready for the show tonight.

Any of you guys have any experience with the Ebtech Hum-X? I'm thinking about picking one up so I can ditch my Radial Bigshot. I figure this would work better for me since I run both amps all the time I really don't need any channel switching.

No but let me know what you find out, I'm in the same boat and sometimes the radial gets bumped or whatever and then an amp is out and I have to figure out where the issue is. Most of the time it's the Radial. kinda annoying to say the least.

Well, I got banned from the gear page again. Why is it so wrong to suggest that the god-squad should keep their posts in the praise and worship forum found at the very top of the page? I don't go flooding the regular pages on here with "what's the best delay for doom" threads.
