Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
yeah, good shit. the only weird thing is they don't package by set but by gauge. so you will have 5 .56 together, 5 .42 etc. kind of a bitch when you need to restring but not too bad. I posted this in skip's new guitar thread but here is what I got for my seven string:
Custom set #1 for 7 String Guitar
3 total sets plus 2 free sets ordered:
String 1: .011p
String 2: .016p
String 3: .024w
String 4: .032w
String 5: .042w
String 6: .056w
String 7: .070w

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
This was my first order but I have been using them since april, so only a few months, but I will stick with them since they make the custom set that works for what I want from the seven string. total cost charged to me was 24.99 including the shipping

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
Circle K's are expensive but I haven't found a string I've been more pleased with. Their so big though that the break angle from the bridge to the tailpiece on the dearmonds is too acute so I had to file down the bridges behind the saddle, above the adjuster screw, so they didn't bind up.
I'll have to check out the naked strings though as that's pretty freakin dirt cheap for sets of strings.
*edit* Just checked and they don't make a guitar string bigger then .70.... and I need around a .80....

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
yeah the circle ks came to $15 a set
but ive only heard good things
howd you make out with the dearmond electronics?
when it left there was some cut out issues
everything straigt now?
i figured it was just a tightening issue
i know you said it had the floating pickup mod
but ive only heard good things

I paid 26$ shipped for two sets.
The electronics were not that bad, the only thing i had to do was resolder the ground on the output jack and put actual pickup screws that fit in it. The black one is due in today, as well as the ibby pickups for it so I'm gonna go through and set that one up as well sometime this weekend.

No problem buddy! It was my pleasure!!!! Dude a chick singer with that would be sick! Especially if she can sing like Grace Slick.

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
she was very concerned about screamin
and i told her
"i dont wanna be in a metal band,
im not really all that metal"
so hopefully she just does what comes natural at the time
i mean thats what i do
if i could fart into my pickups, i would

dazedbyday wrote:So Beast in the Field just released a new video for a song off their new album coming out. Since you guys dug the last one I figured I would share it here:

I also got my new guitar in the mail. It is great. I will post some pics once I install the new pickups. I am still waiting for one pickup which will hopefully be delivered tomorrow early so I will have time to install it before the show.
For the reverb, the supermoon caught my attention through those guitar pro shop videos. It makes me want to grab it to stick at the end of my chain but I already have a big board and enough other shit to play with. Although it might be a nice pair with the supernatural reverb.
this sounds pretty good...ill have to hit Youtube to hear more of their stuff.
but the bit where they are in the woods...the colour of the film reminds of Kreator's Betrayer video clip...for reference:

edit: actually, having now watched the clip...its not that similar, i think its just my old age!

Great Answer!
When this new project gets going I really want to find a female keys / bass synth player who can actually sing, even opera style would be sick. I want varying vocal styles mixed into the music and the drummer has the best growl / scream style vocals I've ever had the pleasure of sharing the stage with, and my comfort range is yelling and baritone / bass singing or chanting, so having a really smooth female voice to contrast those two I think would add the extra edge I'm looking for.

Ancient Astronaught wrote:It's definitely in the same vein as the GE, but I perceive it as wetter. I always felt the GE was a very dry reverb, which is why it works so well with dirt. But the supermoon is wetter and has much longer tails, the modulation is a lil more seasick as well. I think for fuzzed out doomy tones the GE would work alot better, but for clean tones and solos / lead lines the supermoon would wet your panties.
That sounds amazing. Now that I have two boards, I might need two reverbs

This. I have only heard the song in the video, but I'm a big fan already. It reminds me of how much I still want/need an octave pedal.

It is!!1 I'll try to get a demo recorded this weekend or next week using it pre and post dirt.
Yup, its giving me some octave pedal gas as well. Not sure how it would mix in my style but would be fun to play around with.
