In other news, I just found two perfect sources for my paper on my schools online library database, but neither of the actual texts are available within the database, just the citation.

My wife's car was overheating like a bastard Tuesday. The mechanic who looked at it said it was the headgasket, and it was going to be like 2000 bucks to fix. I was skeptical. I said no thank you and barely got it to drive home.

I was skeptical and started checking things out with my very limited car repair knowledge. My dad had told me once that if it was a head gasket, you should see milky white shit on the oil dipstick. I saw nothing but oil. So I drove it to another mechanic (again, barely getting there) and had him take a look, without telling him what the other mechanic said.

He called me just this morning and told me that the water pump shit the bed and also the radiator fan had shorted out. 500 bucks. Still shitty, but a damn sight better than 2000.

Fucking mechanics. They're just out and out thieves. George was right:

boy, am i having a lovely day. when i woke up i dscovered that one of my cousin's cats had decided it was a clever idea to shit on his carpet, so i was picking up crap before i was even totally awake. then my laptop croaked again with the same catalog errors that it had a few days ago when i had to reinstall the system software. so i had to reinstall again, and decided to zero out the disk and partitions in case there's something lurking in the system. as of now i'm downloading system software updates to the reinstall, the most recent OS UD of which is taking a half-hour to download. if this keeps up the laptop is going to be more trouble than it's worth, and a best-case scenario is that i'll be done reconfiguring this thing at about 5:00, having started around 11.

I've got to work at six and I have a 4-5 page paper due at midnight, of which I have about half a page done.

I'm having trouble figuring out what kind of historical events I really have to cite. I mean everybody kinda knows when 9/11 was.

I'm down with PC people... if they're using them for recording or gaming.

As usual, I spend a day in bed and manage to churn something out. I'll probably get a B (I need all B-'s this semester because they're all classes in my major). Imagine if I actually tried and wasn't a total drunk/stoner all the time!

If it's any consolation, mine finished far earlier than I wanted and I now feel crap again, so staying in friday isn't all bad!

Ahh, I can sympathise with this, today my laptop for the first time decided when starting that there was no operating system on boot up and that the drive was disconnected.

For a while it has been, first the battery died and holds 5 minutes of charge, next if I put it in standby by shutting the lid, it would take several open and shut attempts to have it come to the login screen... then it just wouldn't come out of having it shut so I had to turn the mains power off and let the battery run to emergency (which didn't take long, but it regularly decided to start on its own with no external influence, literally, I could come in the room and it had anyway and then run completely flat and loose everything) and now this so i'm guessing it hasn't got long to live, it's already had one motherboard replacement.

So if I want it to start now, I have to turn off the power supply and remove the battery before it decides it does have an operating system... which means I keep loosing everything I had open unless I waste a load of electricity just keeping it on constantly.

I'd be annoyed if it wasn't a pretty decent laptop and not that old... and if I could afford a new one.

Oh and the sound kept failing a while ago so I uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers and now it wont record on audacity.
