OH LOOK! IT'S ANOTHER FUNNY "TALENT SIMULATOR" PEDAL THREAD! Who cares,....
I did find the one guys implication that drone/doom isn't a viable musical artform. It might not be the most technical genre out there but your timing and sense for the dramatic really needs to be on point. People listen to it,...and if they like it,...then I'm more than happy to make it happen for them.

I've stopped reading the Effects forum at this point. I check the threads once or twice a week and skimread maybe one or two. It's just turned into the typical snoozefest music gear forum where nothing new is ever said. I prefer my musicians creative, I know I know, that sounds silly, right?

What exactly constitutes a "viable musical artform" I wonder? Is there some set of rules or criteria that some dude possesses that none of us do? I left the metal community a few years ago due to similar rigid requirements for what constitutes Heavy Metal® within the limited eyes of a limited people. If you don't like something, such as drone/doom, I get that. I don't like a lot of music out there, yippee for both of us. But to somehow pretend that it isn't art is ludicrous.

I agree with you Nads,...
I am fully prepared for people to not "get" Mecha Shiva (It's not really drone,...but it could easily go in that direction). I have a slight background in theory and 9 years worth of adhering to the rules as piano student. But instead we said fuck the rules. I feel like I'm approaching my art with an understanding of the "rules" much like Jackson Pollock who was classically trained but decided to say fuck it and paint smears on canvas and see if rubes would buy it.
