Any recommendations for 12" speakers that'd sound good for bass and guitar in a sealed oversized 2x12? Not looking for massive lows. Swamp Thang and Hot 100s have my eye at the moment but my knowledge of guitar speakers is minimal.

Infinite Flux was great on Saturday (nice to meet you guys!), Deathbed Confessions reminded me why I love crossover metal, and McCoy's was awash in old school Oly pals from way back. great night.
I'm not using the ape blaster with Mahnhammer currently, though it'll be going with me when we hit Rancho de la Luna in a few weeks and will likely get on some tracks. I think Mico de Noche might be dead, btw. who knows?
Mike!!! Please stay, we miss you.

Ancient Astronaught wrote:So as far as my weekend.... I went to the used gear store to pickup an infiniti looper and philosphers tone. Well we get there and they have both pedals but I find out their new so they can't do much as far as discounts, and I brought a bunch of PA gear I wasn't using and they needed to test and were really busy so me and Skully went to lunch. When we came back they had sold the infinity looper!

So I was like shit what else do they have here that I could trade for..... Walking down the amp aisles I found this lil beasty!

Plus, they played "Monkey Junction" and that song is the heaviest arrangement of the blues scale that humanity will ever produce. Six notes. Apocalyptic heaviness.
Awesome.
Facts: Monkey Junction is probably the best Weedeater song. Monkey Junction is a part of Wilmington...where buses used to stop way back in the day at a gas station that had monkeys, and some people say they sold monkeys too. Which is strange. Either way the song is rad and pretty much tells the story of getting hammered drunk downtown and trying to walk home. I'll stop being dorky about Wilmington now.

Ha yeah you will. I'll have at least one build with every band on Friday.
AA I did a search and just found that Stoner riffs thread. Also totally blanked the delta pro 12A recommendations in there. they look like they might suit me better than the Swamp Thangs. Cheers for the tip. Much difference between them and the regular 12A worth the extra 40 euro/55 dollars?

Advice needed bros. So there is a cosmetically beat to shit Sunn Sceptre for sale locally for $150. Has been modded to have a master volume. Dude says it needs tubes, could probably use caps, and 'the clips that hold the power transformer to the chassis' are broken.
Obviously this would be a project.
But is it worth 150 in it's current state? How much would it take to fix all this shit?

It sounded pretty rad.
Also, OGRE absolutely crushed it on Friday. Glad to see those dudes are getting back to slaying faces, especially now that people actually listen to this stuff.
Did they play any new songs from the forthcoming album?

Best dual purpose 12" i've found. I kinda miss my old 2x12 with them in it, could handle any amp you threw at it and had the lows if you wanted them or cleaned up and had great neutral mid range with a sweet top end if you dialed out the lows. Great speakers.

Great thanks is there much difference between these and the regular 12As? Looks like the pros are 40 euro or 55 dollars extra each.

Pro-12A response chart:

Regular 12A response charge:

The Pro is smoother with a linear mid range, the regular 12A has a more scooped mid range sound with apparently a semi wonky top end. Notice the roll off of the Pro's top range is relatively smooth while the regular has that random jump around 16k. The pro also has about 1db more sensitivity so it will be perceived as louder.
So it boils down to if you want a really smooth and neutral speaker that will sound like what you put into it (PRO), or if you want a slightly scooped tone with a lil more top end to it (REG).

Great thanks for posting those, PRO it is so. Now to work out the right volume for the cab as I'm gonna cut down an old 4x12 that's collecting dust here in the corner.
