So I misunderstood my prior situation; The guy wanted to sell me his Coven as opposed to trading it, and I also missed a 10% off sale on a new Pharaoh on fleabay.

The search continues.

If enough people agree about the capabilities of a piece of gear, it becomes "common knowledge" on there. I remember when the suggestion for every genre of rock music was a Peavey 5150/6505. I'm game if you guys are.

Dude, get the black forest! Trust me Heavy, its a game changer. I swear I don't have a black arts endorsement.
On the same topic and on that of rats and sludge, PDX+BF=Kylesa tones. Nick is on the money with pairing the rat to an od. And the PDX has that 308....very sexy. Had a dick around with it last night, couldn't stop playing nature's predators.
So dick to shelling out for a splawn or engl (not that I think they're bad amps, hell if I could afford it, I'd get one) but I can get brutal static tensions sounds from my iceman, a Duncan distortion, the BF, the PDX, and a sovtek mig 50. Even subbing the PDX for an affordable rat clone would get you there, and you'll have spent about a third of the money.
ok, that ends my rant. If I post about the BF again within the next few pages, feel free to put my ass on notice. I've become a raving lunatic about that thing. So much sex in that black box.
I blame vid for piquing my interest and Shannon for selling it to me.
Ah tubgirl, that takes me back to the days when the internet was an unexplored jungle of putridities, not just a petrie dish for the fostering of a bizarre war of escalation of sexual deviancy.

Pre-web was DEEP WEB? And our current internet is the deepweb with commercial adverts and common search phrases?

Don't you worry yourself, I'm watching out for a Black Forest too. I'm still waffling over which I want. I know they both push massive low end and do a cleanish boost, but they go about it differently. How fuzzy does the BF get? Cuz my Laney has heavy overdrive for days...

Awesome! I'm glad it helped! I do that every time I upsize the strings on a guitar.

Circle K makes amazing strings, pretty much all I use now a days. They offer slightly odd sizes, like .79 instead of .80 but the quality is too notch.

Hey Heavy, I guess my point was that awful shit was always out there on the web, but it just seems to me that these days, people are breaking their necks to outdo each other as far as fucked up shit is concerned. I guess some of it is due to that initial content perhaps desensitising people, or maybe a generation of kids coming through that will do anything for fame, but I can't reconcile the fact that en masse, there seems to be more accessible shit like that now. I don't have a problem with content like that, if that's what people are into, then go hard, maybe I just find it difficult to believe that fetish material like that now has its own category on mainstream porn sites . I just don't think demand for it could be that high. Once upon a time, it was just for giggles...now...
What do I know, I'm an old man who likes big jiggly asses, and pert titties?
I liked the way you summed up the internet though. Nice.
Yeah the pedal in question does get nice and dirty. Should defo kick the arse on your amps gain. I was in the same situation as you, think, ing "overdrive, well it couldn't be that dirty, right?"
Oh, how wrong I was.

Do you use a cutting off of the end of the unwound strings to file those slots? I noticed that my G string is still sitting higher than the rest. I dunno if it didn't file out any at all of if it did and I just didn't do it long enough. I think I'm gonna use it as my main guitar for our first show, although I really have been getting into my LP Standard lately. It sounds so good ever since I put those Duncans in it. The only thing that I don't like about it is the sweep on the pots seem a little too fast. And I don't know if I wired something up wrong but when I turn the volume all the way down on the neck pickup I can still hear it. If i turn the volume up to one or two then the sound cuts all the way out. As I roll it up the sound comes back in.

I actually heard an ENGL in person the other day.
It sounded pretty rad.
Also, OGRE absolutely crushed it on Friday. Glad to see those dudes are getting back to slaying faces, especially now that people actually listen to this stuff.

Fuckin A! Was Mike playing his Ape Blaster? I'm pretty sure he still does when he's with
Mico de Noche but I haven't seen Mahnhammer since Takata left.
I absolutely LOVE McCoy's!!! One of the funnest bars in Washington imo
