Just bought some Eminence Wizards to pair with my Swamp Thangs. I am excite.
I very much agree with all these suggestions. I would add HoF's Death is this Communion, as well.new05002 wrote:YOB -> Unreal Never Lived, Great Cessation, Atma

What makes an album a classic is a bit tough ya know, everyones going to have their own thoughts but here are some starting points
Oh, oh, oh! I forgot!samzadgan wrote:so now that the guys in the states are on line...ill post my question again....as its now about 5 pages ago.
so i'm buying some albums, and wanted some recommendations. Not all new stuff just some classic albums. Relatively new to Doom, so suggestions are welcom.
The suggested albums front...so far are:
Sleep - Dopesmoker (alread have holy mountain)
YOB - not sure which album
there were a few more suggested, but i already have those.
Alot of people pair Tonkers with Swamp Thangs (i have that pair in my earcandy 2x12) but I'm not partial to the Tonkers, the Wizards are more british sounding which should meld well with the ST's.CaptainBoxman wrote:Just bought some Eminence Wizards to pair with my Swamp Thangs. I am excite.
Very very solid suggestions!!!!!!pelliott wrote:Oh, oh, oh! I forgot!
Cough - Ritual Abuse
Thou - Summit
Bongzilla - Gateway or Amerijuanican (they like weed lol get it)
i agree with the "classic" album comment...im just looking for a long list that i can then go through and find things that i like out of it. Like i said, relatively new to Doom...so, want to make sure that i get the education i need!new05002 wrote:YOB -> Unreal Never Lived, Great Cessation, Atma

To each his own. I haven't liked anything they have done past Leviathan. Their tones are getting thinner and thinner with each album. The last album was so bad I deleted it after I listened to it.crohny wrote:Snakes for the Devine has awesome songs on it. Crack the Skye is good for the most part. Oblivion isn't my cup of tea at all though. The first two HOF albums are fucking killer. There isn't a bad album by them in my opinion. Newest album is fucking killer.
Personally I can't listen to The Hunter. It just. I just. Damn.crohny wrote:Not by any means their best album but it isn't a bad album either. The newest one i can dig in small amounts. Clearly no longer Mastodon.
