My one and only:
2002 Warwick 5 string bolt-on, ovangkol/ovangkol w/wenge fretboard, stock MEC pickups and 2-band eq (left flat most of the time).
Bought used and abused, then refinished it. Body has a light eurothane coat, but the neck is still open grain and bees-waxed often.

Currenty using DR Drop Down Tuning (set to BEAD, 135-55)...

It's totallys metals...

Thank you, good sir. I can certainly achieve any tone I want.

I don't have enough, though. That's the main problem.

How do you like the Atkinson?

The Atkinson is, hands down, one of the best instruments I've ever touched. Come Spring, I'll finally be able to use it in the studio and take it on the road. There isn't a single thing I don't like about it. Dan is the best dude to deal with.

This won't be one of the "stay in the van" basses. If I have to sleep on a couch in someone's house, it'll be under the blanket with me.

Wasn't Atkinson that fella that got all hot headed after TBers started a pissing war over how spot on his Fender Clones were? It was figured out that not a single person that was bitching and moaning had even played one of his basses. Then everyone chilled out, DA changed his design slightly and all was fine and dandy?

Good Times

There's been a lot of arguing with Dan and his basses. He's going to be the next Jauqo. He recently closed shop again. He is still offering basses, but he no longer does custom work.

I won't lie, my Atkinson feels/plays better than any Fender I've touched. I installed a Stellartone ToneStyler in place of the tone knob. Holy shit, talk about tonal range.

Love the Stellertone, tried one and now have them installed in 3 of my basses.
Take a Jag, install one of them and Nordstrand ‘70s wound pickups and you’ll kill.
