Congratulations! Chaps are awesome BTW, cover what's needed.

Note of caution, bridges are unpleasant on a small motorcycle. I would not do a bridge on anything less than a 1300cc. They feel unstable and unsettling. I have 2 motorcycles. On my 865ccc Triumph Bonneville I hate bridges with a passion, but on my 2300cc Rocket 3, it's A-OK.

Wear your gear ALL THE TIME. Helmet (full face), gloves, chaps and boots.

I like the gear with armor in it the best. I took a spill going about 35mph and had full gear on (full face helmet, armored jacket, armored pants, boots, kevlar gloves), and was able to get back up and ride for 2 more hours.

I took my second spill wearing all of the above, EXCEPT I wore jeans instead of armored pants. My knee was injured pretty badly.
so much gear...

Absolutely, I always wore full helmet, armored jacket, knee & shin guards, gloves, and boots, even in the hottest weather. It's the idiots tooling around with a wife beater, flip-flops, and half a helmet that lose limbs and lives the most. From the couple of times that I went down, it was the knees and hips that suffered the most injury. So, next time I buy a bike, I'll also be looking for some really good armored pants.

I don't want a pickle
Just want to ride on my motorsickle
And I don't want a tickle
'Cause I'd rather ride on my motorsickle
And I don't want to die
Just want to ride on my motorcy

I once saw this meathead wanker riding a Harley up and down a beach road wearing nothing but a pair of budgie smugglers. No helmet, no footwear. Just the budgie smugglers and a pair of shades. I thought there is a quad or an organ donor waiting to happen

My wife gave me approval to get a bike.....then she backed out on it.
I really want a Triumph Thruxton (because, yes, I am a complete wanker) but will probably look at getting a cheap suzuki/honda/jap beast if I can get back into the good books.

Am most certainly filing Kaos' mechanical qualifications away for future reference. :thumb:

And vid, I say this with love: you're a dickhead.
Don't ride drunk again, you're too awesome to hose off the road, mate.

I like the Thruxton. Rather have a Scrambler, though.

Thruxton hard on the wrist and the Scrambler's pipes jutted into my legs, my SE though; pure riding bliss.

Do you know how to ride/have your licence, Echo?

Maybe look into that CHP training/crash course, that teaches you how to fall safely, should that ever happen.

No self respecting Mad Max lover would ride anything other than a Kawasaki Z900 or Z1000. I like the Z900 myself.

Sure dude, I will help you get something up and running and help you keep it there :thumb:

True dat. I've seen many pulled over, losing half of the points on their driving license by going through a red light "because there are no rules on a bicycle".
