Both are neat. I like the 6x6 but the 4x8 is neat too (and I think it looks cooler). But the 6x6 would probably be better for a pedalboard. Which ever one is easier, better in your opiinion would work. It is your design man (I preordered a while ago now...like a week or something, I don't remember).

Likewise, but that's because I'll be using it predominantly as something I can manipulate with my hands in real time. I might feel differently if I was nabbing this to use on a pedalboard.univalve wrote:The right one would Be my preference.

Which is basically why I lean left. But really--either WILL work.D.o.S. wrote:Likewise, but that's because I'll be using it predominantly as something I can manipulate with my hands in real time. I actually like the way the one on the right looks better, so that's a vanity vote....

Are normal jacks for CV possible? I use a lot of moog shit and 6,3mm would Be fancy for me.

Re: Rochambeau Musical Apparatus Dirty Doper
Normal jacks ARE possible, but please note: I do NOT have a DC blocking cap on the CV in stage, so the bias on the transistor base is also on that connector... It's something mild like 1 volt or so, but I would feel terrible if that puny volt did something like shave a little strength of the permanent magnet in your pup, or some other unintended damage. I doubt it would BBQ anything, but that's why I reached for an unusual format on that.univalve wrote:Are normal jacks for CV possible? I use a lot of moog shit and 6,3mm would Be fancy for me.
Regarding enclosure, these are all essentially hand built, and so supporting two different forms isn't a huge pain in the ass. That said, the knobs pictured in the wide unit are pulls from an old amp of mine and are unobtanium in that size (1.5" outside diameter) as far as I can tell. The widest skirt I can find without breaking the bank is installed on the 6x6 (1.32"), but that will result in some gaps that may seem like wasted space on the wide unit. The pictured knob sitting a little below the wide unit is a larger 1.75" skirt that won't mount inside the pot placement (roughly 1.5" on center), I could move move the CV either below the toggles or around the back and I think that would fill out nicely.
Variety is the spice of life.

Thanks! I will only Stick CV stuff in there. So no worries about that. Mainly a LFO.

I spend way too much time scanning through lists of knobs for sale on EBay.

Re: Rochambeau Musical Apparatus Dirty Doper
So, no matter how many times I shot the video there was at least one control I didn't touch, and/or a combination I had hoped to explore that I forgot to in the moment. This is the best & most concise take of the bunch, hopefully it doesn't inspire anyone to demand their money back! Camera audio only this time, my DAW decided to shit on my face today. I'm happy to take requests regarding capturing certain corners of operation, I just didn't want to noodle around for 20 some odd minutes.

Here's another out take with a little more filth, and less blathering.
