I've yet to notice the difference sound-wise between a flanger and a phaser, anyone care to enlighten me?

If it's purple, it better be a flanger.

Flangers and phasers are very similar sounding. Flangers are time based modulation. Phasers are filter based. They both came about trying to emulate the sound of tape flanging. Phasers came first, then later flangers. To me, the main difference is that flangers are generally more versatile. You can usually get a lot more varied sounds out of a flanger than a phaser. I love 'em both, but I think I love flangers more.

(Look what happens when I take the time to type up a detailed response. I miss so much.)

http://www.geofex.com/article_folders/phasers/phase.html

From above article:
The real difference between a phaser and flanger is that a flanger always produces a large number of notches that are an even multiple of frequency apart. Even phasers with large numbers of stages (I've heard of 20 stage devices!) can't compete with the multiple notches that a flanger puts out. The spacing of the notches is also audible as a change in tone, and it takes some careful trimming to get phaser notches spaced the same regular spacing as a flanger.

Might try this Chase Bliss out. edit: it says analog on it  slow typing loses.

Yeah, it's probably the same as his other pedals: analog with digital control. :snax:

He could just basically put all these plugins in a multi FX type of pedal and make more money out of it.
