We were filling it with new circuits though. We had a 3 new pedals to release this summer and four more planned for the winter release. The issue is that it takes at least 6 months to get a new pedal out that is worth releasing. She wanted it to be a faster process but we were going for some brand new stuff.

We spent a year getting things cleaned up and the the second year was planned for new products. She got impatient.

That's because Devi can make new circuits fast. Just change a value here, flip a resistor there.or just jam two pre-existing circuits into a box together. Hooray "new"!

Seriously though. Almost everyone knows real RnD takes time. Unless you want to just rehash things over and over. Even the famed Test Pattern is based on a Soda Meiser, I think.

I can read schematics like a dog.

Devi Ever wrote:What Dwarfcraft and I are going through right now is what politicians like to call "rallying the base."

It's a very silly dance that ultimately means very little in the long term and is really more about feeding out own ego than anything meaningful.
It would be honorable if she lived the sometimes down-to-earth things she says. She has gone too far too many times. I guess she never learned anything from the boy who cried wolf? I might be inclined to listen, one day.....if she ever did right. That'd take too much effort and not be as immediately glamorous.

Sorry guys. I've been spewing a bunch of hate towards Devi in this thread. I just want to apologize. This isn't me. Well it is, but damn. Not since JHS fucked up their customer service towards me has a builder irked me so. And it Keeps. Happening.

Even if it isn't just a sympathy ploy, I know she'll be right back to doing what she has been. This is the worst merry-go-round.

My take on it might be a little different. What I find telling is that she is cognizant that she's attempting to manipulate people (and for ego gratification no less) and that this is so ingrained in her that she assumes others (Dwarfcraft in this case) have the same motives.

My thoughts too. That's always the worst when someone is in denial to the extent that they put energy into projecting it onto others.

It's like there's a grain of self awareness that you've done something wrong, but then it's instantly buried by the fact that the 'bad guy' is also doing it, which of course is way worse, because they're the 'bad guy'. Although the fact that they're not actually doing anything wrong -but you think they are- is what's causing this weird cognitive dissonance in the first place.

I think no matter who you are, who you were, what your upbringing was like, where you come from, your race, gender, sexual orientation... that kind of dissonant thinking, that complete lack of acknowledgment that you fucked up, or that your behaviour and opinions might well be wrong, is a major, if not the root cause of becoming a complete arsehole.

And then what compounds it is when people call you out on it, which isn't pleasant. It can be belittling and embarassing, and feel like an attack, because in part that's what is is, because it's had to come to that, and so it's all the more difficult to see any truth in what they're saying. It's easier to just say "haters be hatin" and bury your head in the sand.

I only just read through this thread a week or so ago, and while I'm familiar with the drama that can often be associated Devi, I've got to say that in the past sometimes she's been right, and has only spoken out defensively, and so the drama wasn't of her making. However... this whole thing is entirely on her, she is the one in the wrong, and subsequently the cause of the ensuing and escalating drama. If the whole Console Kickstarter incident was what started this avalanche of ego I hope she can look back to that time and address the root cause, and over time, sort things out, acknowledge being in the wrong, and hopefully make amends.

There's a really sad example of that. Paul Hoffman (aka Morepaul from the old HCFX forums. Really nice guy BTW) found that out the hard way. He's snakebit from even trying to talk to her about it, but filled me in on this.

A little context since Devi wiped all the videos as per her habit :
This was after the announcement where Devi (as Grace Lynn) announced she was giving money to Feminist Frequency.
So she did a youtube video literally telling the kickstarter backers "Fuck off, you don't know shit" for being angry about it
Then in the next couple of weeks she did a couple more videos about her arm cutting (that's what the "left arm" thing is referring to) and how people hate her, etc, etc
Paul responded to Devi in the comments section of the video. Devi took a screenshot and put on twitter with her little commentary.

Oh, a couple of fun facts.
* Devi erased all other comments to sculpt a story

* Devi (Grace) was at the height of trying to promote her anti-gamergate image, but there's a problem. Paul isn't a gamer at all let alone a gamergater. That part she completely made up out of thin air.

OK, I talk pretty critically of Devi. I do and that's because I think she is clearly in the wrong and it's not just a mistake, it's a consistent pattern of really mistreating people.

This may not seem like it, but here's an attempt to head off some problems for Devi before they get too bad (Hi Devi, you let us know you are reading so you may want to listen up here). and since it's an open letter, I might as well respond

Some things you might want to consider :

I'm going to hope this (see attachment) was just an attempt at "rallying the base" because you obviously didn't do your legal research. You could very easily be putting yourself in an actionable position.

It's generally only small claims courts that have only monetary award, other courts can compel performance such as enjoining you (but you could also be on the hook for damages, court costs) so "sue me, I don't have any money" might not be that compelling a deterrent this time around.

You've made some statements that suggest willful infringement which could expose you to far greater damages should that come to be.
