Don't have actual ones but I've used the guitar synth ones more than once.

I'm partial to running them through something like a modern high-gain setup (faux Triple Rec, HM-2, etc) - they bloom stupidly when done.

Real ones, no idea!

I have a set, but haven't figured out a good way to mic them for running through effects. I was thinking delay, reverb (obvi), and ring mod would be cool.

I also just like playing them clean over drones.

Thanks for your input, definitely something to think about. I just assumed draping a mic over it would suffice. I have a Pigtronix Keymaster so I would just run the mic through that into the pedals. I am sure a little googling will teach us how to mic these things properly.

i sampled it for that reason. this kills the real time fun a bit but during the process of playing and recording it was pretty clear i have to record it first before i can have fun with heavy effects usage on it. cant help with the mic, in my case it was the cabin for a singers we abused :)

edit: different case and more a production situation and not live playing with knob twiddling.

Great input, from a real live German too!

I would mainly be using it for layering and soundscape in a studio environment. I don't play out live. I'm like the Beatles in that respect.

Do you have a link..? That sounds so rad and I can't find one anywhere.

I was thinking you could put contact mics on the base possibly and then run it through pedals from there. I'm really tempted to get a cheap one and try that.
