What kind of patch cables are there? I suppose they don't suck?neonblack wrote:
Gonna spread some stuff out soon. I was just seeing how much I could squeeze into the first row. I have a RRR coming early next week that will probably go between the Second Voice and STEP. Until I get a second verb, then it'll be one at the beginning and one at the end.
This setup is working pretty well for me. Running everything into the Warped Vinyl is a lot of fun. Its hard for me to turn the WV off. My ears get accustomed to the thickness of it and then when I turn it off I'm like "Where did all this high end come from?"

I'm using the STEP as a mid gain fuzz. It has everything I want - punch, clarity, and a really good growl. And then if I hit it with my Mini (set to a nice light/medium chunky OD) it gets really saturated and heavy. Feeds back nicely depending on settings.
That might change though. My Mini has the Hi gain mod and it makes an amazing grimy fuzz with a ton of low end now. I feel like I should be using it like that.
The black patch cables are EBS flat patch cables. They're great! Really flexible, and I haven't had one crap out on me yet. The pancake cables are just plain old Hosa cables. Id like to switch to all EBS cables though.
I need to invest in a power supply too. There's some noise from my one spot. Not bad at home, but at show volumes it might be pretty noticeable.

Well look what the cat dragged in. What's up Flo?neoflox wrote:Well, it's not the fancy boutique board I sported back in the days, but this one is getting played out live a lot and it's a big bang for the buck.
Got rid of the ElCap recently and added a second Joyo drive. It's in use with my band Rodha on bass. Playing stuff somewhere around Eyehategod, Russian Circles, Bison BC etc.
Please tell me you're still holding the Meastro...

Haha, hey Harry, nice to read you again
Yeah, I still have the Maestro! But it has a broken potentiometer and I can't find a replacement for years now. Maybe I'll start another hunt right here

The signal path is a bit more tricky than it seems:
Ibanez Bass Compressor (Sustain)
EBjr / tuner out -> Bass Synth wah -> Polytune -> Stereo in of ElCap -> Amp channel 1
EBjr / normal out -> Harley Benton/Joyo Ultimate Drive (whatever happened to ken?) -> Swollen Pickle -> Stereo in of ElCap -> Amp channel 2
Signal chain question,
Signal Splits at VP does that mean you basically get two different chains from your volume pedal?
How does the Elcap handle the split signal
Both won't work at once right?

Yes, I split the signal with the VP. You're not supposed to do it without a prober splitter/buffer, but it works for me at the moment. I split it into the clean signal and and the distorted and mix it back together on my 2-channel preamp.hbombgraphics wrote:neoflox wrote:Well, it's not the fancy boutique board I sported back in the days, but this one is getting played out live a lot and it's a big bang for the buck.

The ElCap did a great job. I had the Y-Adapter (not pictured) to run both paths through it and it was great. Both worked all the time, bypassed and when engaged.

Haha, it sounds lame, but I have been waiting until I build the actual board from wood and stuff. I want to steam bend and all that stuff and make this neat suitcase looking thing. Someday...
