Heck yea. I got one called Figure (free) and it's pretty legit. Had a lot of fun with it last night. All sorts of lead/bass/drum sounds and controls with the ability to record/loop/etc.

I never really got into animoog, I love Waldorf's Nave though. That shit is deep!
Samplr is amazing too.
And there is something about bitwiz that I really like. It's just evolving noise, but I love it.

Is Midi sync any better with the newer iPads? Sometimes I would like to actually use all these great sounding apps.

Dude, test a 500k pot on the input and see if you like it better. I find it loses treble pretty quickly with the 100k pot that's there, but I don't want to mod mine unnecessarily - mostly due to being a hack haha.

The kit comes with a B500k pot for the input control. This kit is based on the original Effector13 Improbability Drive not the Infanem ID.

Ipad Air. Now what the hell for apps do I need?

Here's what I have with a short review, it should probably go on the ipad thread, but I can't seem to find it.

Sequencers:

• mSequencer: way too convoluted an interface for the amount of features it has, bought it because it's made by the same guy that does the brilliant soundscaper.
• B-Step Pro: this one is fantastic for writing rhythm parts, with its chord based controls, terrible for melodies.
• Sector: more of a glitch mangler, but it's cut pieces of audio that you can sequence, mangled, randomize, etc. Pretty awesome for drums, makes everything I've ran with it awkward. But maybe I'm not that good at it.
• Genome: see the mSequencer review.
• Necklace: fresh out the oven, this polyrhythmic sequencer still lacks a lot of features, being relatively new. But the lack of features is made up by the boundless capabilities it has, I love polyrhythmic sequencers.

DAWs:

• Garageband: you probably have this, it's horrible at sequencing shit in house, great for sketching quick ideas, pairs with audiobus, so you can just run an external sequencer, still a pain.
• Beathawk: one of my favorite MPC based apps, everything is right where it needs to be and doesn't have any features it wouldn't do right. Still lacks interapp midi and seqience view.
• iMaschine: a fucking disappointment, the developers should be ashamed, I know I am.
• Loopy HD: THE BEST fucking idea sketchpad on the app store, it's effectively a 9 part looper with great integration to other apps. One of my favorite apps ever.
• Auria: great audio track based DAW, full featured saved for MIDI/virtual instrument features, but that's incoming. The other option is cubasis, but I don't have that one...
• iMPC Pro: another disappointment, but because it gets SO FUCKING CLOSE to perfection, no keyboard roll, lack of interapp midi and app options makes it frustrating, effects could also be expanded. But the interface is ace and the app itself is fun to play with, also has awesome audio mangling features.
• Tabletop: worth it only because it's free, tries to do too much with itself.

Utilities:

• Audiobus: this should be on every musicians ipad, allows you to connect apps together. so you can run iPad synths into effect/sequencer apps, etc.
• Audioshare: like audiobus but for exported audiofiles, also a must have
• Chromatik: great free collection of sheet music provided by Berkeley, lots of options to learn songs.
• Chord: great for writing down your music ideas, comprehensive and efficiently designed chord and scale viewer/finder, great harmonizer. One of my favorite writing apps.
• Guitar Pro: AVOID: just use the PC version, this app is archaic.

Effects:

• Amplitude: good if you're not willing to spend money.
• Bias Amp: But if you are willing o spend money, get this one. Probably the best sounding amp simulation on the iPad.
• JamUp Pro: Bias Amps + tuner/metronome/shitty 4-track, not much to see here, really
• Effectrix: Sequenced effects for your glitchy pleasure, can be a royal pain the arse to work with due to it's midi requirements, though. Amazing sounds otherwise
• Filtatron: I basically try to stick this on every app I play with, can do both pretty moog filters sound and complete sonic mayhem with it's distortions and feedback controls.
• Jamsynth: It's free, it's fantastic, makes other apps glitch is awesome awesome ways, really right smack dab in the middle between a synth and an effect.

Synthesizers/samplers:

• Hexaglyphics: Another apps that's fresh out the oven, it's a 13-bit noise synth. Minimalistic, with only 4 control areas: a filter strip, a mode button, 4 sample length buttons and the playing surface. SEIZURE WARNING. Sound wise this app is nothing new, but it's still amazing. I think what it does (not sure) is taken random samples of white noise and then speed them up/slow them down according to where in the playing surface you touch. It has 4 samples lengths that random from just waves of noise to percussive clicks. Like I said earlier, it's Ryoji Ikeda in a box. But the app itself is nothing compared with what you can do if you run it through effects. Run this into Jamsynth and it sounds like glitchy granular samples, run it through bias and it becomes a lot more muscular, run it into filtratron and experience true sonic mayhem.
• Samplr: great app to play with, has 8 distinct modes such as random playback, arpeggiation and E-Bow mode. It's 5 built in effects are also fantastic, I love the reverb in it. It can get as pretty or as glitchy as you want. My biggest caveat with it though is that you can't trim samples you records, but that's fixed by using Audiocopy instead of the built in recorder, but that's also a hassle.
• Soundscaper: Put this up with hexaglyphics and you got yourself a complete noise studio. This takes three samples and lets you independently mess with the audio file's bits, resulting in great glitchiness, add a reverb/pan/location control, three independent LFO's, Delays and Filters and you got a great soundscape synth. A bit hard to use at first, but the interface is only complicated to fit the fuckton of features it has.
• Thor:direct port of Reason's amazing semi modular synth. Cam produce any sound under the sun, has an amazing mod matrix. It's also really easy to use despite its complex array of features. has the occasional hiccup, but in a home setting this shouldn't be a problem.
• cassini:More traditional than Thor, but still has a fantastic sound, its abundance of noise and sequence/random modulation options makes it my go to for rhythmic noise, pads. Also does standard synth sounds great.
• Magellan: Outdated sound and interface, but still an incredibly full-featured synth, I rather get the others on this list, but it's still a great and viable option.
• Korg Gadget: where do I begin? This really should be in the DAW section, but it's not much of a Workstation, but a sequencer with a multitude of semi-toy synths. If Korg would have put more thought and features into each of the modules this app would have been amazing. But instead we have a collection "gadgets" that try to nail a single sound with various degrees of success. I truly wish the sound was better because the idea is fantastic and it's pretty fun to doodle with it.
• Elastic Drums:probably the best drum synth on the iPad: 6 unique voices that can be mapped into a multitude of different sound engines. Every parameter can be automated and the sequence lengths can be changed, making Elastic able to do polyrhythms. The effect section can be lacking, but it's a lot of fun to play with.
• Animoog: Everything has been said already, probably one of the best sounding synths, however it crashes on me more than i'd like to admit.
• Audulus: Use the PC version, the ipad version is frustrating. Otherwise it's a fun supermodular synth.
• Oscilab: fantastic groovebox that uses stacking waves to shape the countour of a melody line, which you can then lock to certain notes. This is the app I usually grab when I'm on the bus and want to play with music. It's fast, fun and it sounds fantastic. It also has a built in bitcrusher and ringmod that's controlled in the same way as the main line. It allows you to achieve really complex patterns relatively easily. Highly recommend.
• figure: great for smaller screen, not so much for my full size ipad, it's still some of the most fun music apps around, also good for noodling during downtime.

Other apps that I have are not worth my time to outline.
I can go more in depth into any app I own if you ask. But as a TL;DR, get audiobus, samplr, elastic,jamsynth and Thor, they don't disappoint and pretty much cover all of the bases needed to make music. Make sure to put your iPad on airplane mode if you're using a lot of apps at once, it helps with CPU consumption.

I wonder how you like it compared to the older version!

It's pretty much the same pedal except for the expression control which makes it a lot easier to play the pedal while playing the guitar. Good stuff although I think i still prefer the wood enclosure and might pick one up when they become available and sell the generic metal enclosure version....I don't know though. I do kinda prefer these switches to the recessed switches in the wodden box. He took a great pedal and made it even more versatile, using an expression pedal should be considered mandatory.
