I just want to run enough amps to require special power requirements, perhaps a generator...

Re: Post Your Rig: Doom Edition
It sounds great on the bridge pickup...really thick and full. On the neck, its so dark and low heavy that it almost sounds like a bass guitar...for me the neck is unuseable...but i need to play with pickups heights and then if that doesnt help...may need to look at pots.KaosCill8r wrote:Now that you have an amp to play it through, how does the LP sound? Re: Post Your Rig: Doom Edition
i've also discovered a few dead spots on the fretboard, being caused by 3 frets that are set higher than the rest. I tried banging them in last night, but thats not the issue...i will have to get the fuckers filed down.
i'm gonna take the guitar in next week for a full set up and may be change the pots or something to get more highend back in the signal.

B standard?
I've found my Iceman feels really good at drop A, but won't go any lower.
My Iceman needs an overhaul, as well. More money I don't got.
Where do you dial in the presence on your amp?

on the fender i have the bright switch on, i have treble on about 6, and i have presence on about 5. I have never had these treble and presence controls so high. This has definitely helped the bridge pickup sound better, but the neck is so far off its not funny. I'm not going to blame the pickups...i think its the wiring. The guy that finished the guitar said that his wiring skills arent the best...so maybe thats it?

Re: Post Your Rig: Doom Edition
Dunno man.
I'm pretty sure those are supposed to sound blunt (like the warhammer that is Pike's neck tone), maybe there's just a lot of contrast between the neck and the bridge.
I actually don't mind having the presence up higher. I like the cut.
But I rarely play neck pup. I'm usually on the bridge or middle position.
Sounds fatter, not as muddy.

Re: Post Your Rig: Doom Edition
maybe...im not a huge neck player either...so its not a huge deal, or a deal breaker. The bigger issue with the guitar is those frets that stick up a bit.Iommic Pope wrote:Dunno man.

but on the tone side, i like to set my clean on the bridge to have some nice bass to it and really round and warm...then my distortion pedal will have more highs to it...that way i only use the bridge pickup between clean and distorted parts.

Re: Post Your Rig: Doom Edition
That makes sense.
I usually do the same with the middle position (set the neck to mid volume, mid tone for darker warmth, bridge to full volume, tone about 8/9).
Makes the dirt sound really full when I kick the pedal on and then I get more cut when I flick to the bridge alone.

Re: Post Your Rig: Doom Edition
Get Black Winters. They fit B standard tuning like a glove. Brings the heavies but still very articulate. And this is with my Epiphone and whatever wiring it has.
