I read this forum more than I participate to it but I have always loved it.
When every other forum turns out to be endlessly lacking imagination, recycling the same threads or questions and painfully sticking to the same concepts and habits, here on ILF, folks try new things and share novel or crazy ideas without any fear of being judged or shot down.
For me, this open-mindedness characterizes ILF. It is like a safe haven for those who think differently, a giant international gathering of quirky and interesting characters that I feel I know rather well despite having never met a single one of them. It is an odd and rather unique thing, a bit like a family.
Sometimes there is some tension and folks argue but eventually all agree to disagree and move on and sometimes everybody has tremendous fun together, a bit as if we were all jamming together and it really did work brilliantly - smiles all around. I tend to watch it all from the sidelines but I need my daily dose of ILF.

So in keeping with family tradition, I evidently voted for penis sandwich.

I'm pretty bad at saying "hey check out my shit" though I'm hoping to do some pedal demos at some point soon - tried to record some last year and the sound from my camera was so bad. Just recently got one of those zoom things, so hopefully start posting some soon. Though my gear/technique is pretty strange, so I don't think my videos will help people with gear decisions lol

But as for the original topic... I'm new here. So I can't
weigh in on sonic alterations to the ILF vibe over time.
But I love fuzz. And sonic mangling. Talking about that
is fun. That's why I'm here.

I met Donovan on here so I have ILF to thank for that, even though it is likely we would have met eventually. ILF has served me well over the years. I joined this forum because it's the best place on the internet to buy cool pedals. it's fucking dumb how TB makes you pay money to sell things... All gear forums are nerdy, but you guys and myself are on the more enjoyable side of the spectrum. Most of us have similiar interests and I have a lot of respect for many members on here. I will say I don't like everyone on here but I think it would really boring if I liked everyone on here and in real life. For me I mostly like ILF because it's self serving and i'm a pretty selfish person in a lot of aspects.

In general I would say ILF is less enjoyable for me now, but I think that's mostly because as I've learned more about gear and myself over the years, i've found that I really just don't like most of the gear that's out there, new and old. this is cool with me though because I can save more money. I also am trying to spend less time on the internet because i'm definitely addicted, and the internet doesn't really feel the void that I'm trying to fill.
