I got a Matrix Mixer from here. I wouldn't call it rugged, but for tabletop use it does the trick nicely.

The Moog sub 37 has a latch feature which can do some really cool drones along with a lot of sequencing options which don't always have to sound like bloops and bleeps from the 80's.

Glad you like it!!! That's awesome!

I want to mod mine to take input, wonder if you can do that?

Wow. The name too...haha. Neat!

Checked out some clips on the youtubes. It's got some neat character.

"Honey, this is Ekdahl and she's moving in. Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays will be her's. Saturday will still be Voyager's. You'll still have me three times a week," said dude to his Jazzmaster. Little did Jazzmaster know that Saturdays he spent courting a beauty named Modular.

The Youtube demos don't cover the spectrum of the Polygamist. It can drone, do glitchy almost circuit bent power noise, it can be a Beefy Vintagey sounding synth. Also, it is plain handy with other CV gear (Duophonic Midi>CV convertor, Duophonic Ribbon controller), modular integration…

What makes the Polygamist unique and it's drones unique is that the LFOs can go down to 2 minute cycles or lower and they go up into audio rate, plus the LFOs can modulate each other's speed.... The oscillators are cool, one is triangle for and you can "tilt" it to saw wave or ramp, do PWM, sync it to the other Oscillator. THe other oscillator does an analogue version of additive synthesis, so lots of Sine Waves. The Filter is cool, you can put feedback on 1 of it's 4 poles (it is a Lowpass VCF). The VCA is also particularly cool for drones, it is based off an ARP VCA, you can turn knobs on each VCA and just leave them open.

This is not a drone demo but it does show some of the features off from above:

I will do a drone demo and I will try not to go off and make it too much noisy earfuckery.

Here is a longer piece that covers several flavors of DRONE. There are definitely more in this sweet, sweet box.
This takes a minute to really get going but there are some great moments in this recording.
Sometimes it is hard to believe that this is 2 Oscillators, 3 LFOs, 1 filter and 2 VCAs. I didn't use the ADSR at all, it loops which adds more variety in regards to modulation.

Great, now I find myself wanting a Drone Thing, Maximal Drone, 8-step sync, and 8-bit synth. Screw you guys

I picked up a Maximal Drone last night after reading this thread for the 40th time and now I really want an EHX 8 step program to control it.... This is a real issue. Drone stuff is just as addicting as other synths
