Re: P&W gear manufacturers
So I apologize going off the deep end about all this but it's sometimes a touchy subject for me.
I'm definitely not the best Catholic or Christian. Not by a long shot. And my work ethic has nothing to do with my belief system.
For example.
My daughter recently decided Santa Clause wasn't real. I had a good laugh when she told me "my whole life is a fairy tale!!"
Later when she wasn't around I told my wife "if she reacts this way about Santa Clause imaging how she's going to feel when I tell her God's not real". My wife didn't think it was funny. ahahahaha
So I pick fun at my own religion and am a wayward, wishy washy believer. BUT it helps me get through the day.
I do not hate people like some of the so called Christ like people out there. I believe everyone has their own choices in life and some of those things do not include a choice like DOS pointed out.
I love my fuzz bros and all people equally.
Well unless you're a douche bag, then I kind of hate you but love you still.
HARD love.

I don't know you except for the board, but based on your posts here you seem like a pretty reasonable guy - what blows my mind about modern day religion is that in order to say "I'm a catholic and I go to church" you have to clarify with BUT I'M NOT INSANE AND BLOW UP ABORTION CLINICS AND PROTEST GAY SOLDIERS FUNERALS which is so (un)funny about essentially, any religion (take in point in Sydney people are arranging rides for Muslims so they don't get beaten up on the subway). It just strikes me as insane. I mean no offence in this - that by exercising critical thought and not aligning yourself with the extreme aspects of the religion you're "not the best Catholic"..... that's crazy!! You put Jesus in a fucking time machine to 2014 and show him the state of Christianity and I bet he's lose his shit. It was, in theory supposed to be about helping others and compassion, anointing the fucking lepers, etc....jwar wrote:So I pick fun at my own religion and am a wayward, wishy washy believer. Like I work a fucking stressful job in a psychiatric hospital and a few years ago I started reading about Buddhism as a means to de-stress as I was constantly just fucking wound up, my wife instantly thinks I'm going to turn into some knotheaded Hare Krishna at the airport. I don't consider myself anything, but at this point I would never want to be associated with any sort of movement, collective, scene, all for the same reasons. Like I have listened to heavy metal for 24 years now and still find it hard to associate myself as a "metalhead" because I can't own the racism, sexism, hell, every ism you can find lumped in with that scene.... yet that won't tarnish my love for metal.
Rant over for now, I'm making tea......

You should've gone in for that Taoist meditation.

I totally agree with you. It's very, very sad that I have to quantify my faith with those added things. But it's the reality we live in. People are fucking nuts man.retinal orbita wrote:I don't know you except for the board, but based on your posts here you seem like a pretty reasonable guy - what blows my mind about modern day religion is that in order to say "I'm a catholic and I go to church" you have to clarify with BUT I'M NOT INSANE AND BLOW UP ABORTION CLINICS AND PROTEST GAY SOLDIERS FUNERALS which is so (un)funny about essentially, any religion (take in point in Sydney people are arranging rides for Muslims so they don't get beaten up on the subway). I will say this about my actual church, a lot of people didn't agree with our old priest because he told them not to judge people even if they were gay, or didn't believe in God or anything. Isn't that nuts? People actually left the church because the priest was teaching kindness. People are fucked.
I find it hard to relate to the Catholics so much because I literally sometimes think the entire Bible is full of crap. But something keeps bringing me back. I left the church for 10 years and came back when my kids were old enough.
It's funny. My cousin and I decided to make our own religion one day. We would talk about a person we really cared about that had passed away and we would call the feeling we get "our religion" or that's us going to church. It felt really good to talk and tell old stories.
Ugh the more I think about this the more ashamed I am. I'm a bad Christian and have no room to tell anyone not to bash my faith. I just want to be happy.
Oh and FUCK mega churches. I wasn't meaning to defend them. I'll the first one in line to burn IHOP church to the fucking ground.

Re: P&W gear manufacturers
I usually don't care about a maker's religious preferences if I dig the product(s).
But here's a company whose customer support was awful, the owner dishonest and he used a religious reference for his company name:
Trinity Amps (yes, as in Holy Trinity).

Are they no longer in business? Because Freekish Blues did something similar, at least insofar as the "God Fearing Family Man" part of his meltdown after everyone found out they were modded Joyos and not a basement brew classic.hudpucker wrote:I usually don't care about a maker's religious preferences if I dig the product(s).
