It could work. But if you need to increase the length of set add some Smash Mouth and be Mouth Breathers.

Re: The Kitten Room and TB Mega Thread ^.^
Ok, so my band's revolving door bassist situation has ah... revolved again. This is getting fucking out of hand. So instead of putting up a typical add describing the band I thought I might try and a different approach and try and actually reach out to the sort of dude or dudette we want to play with.
For example:
"Are you sick of bands where you are buried in the mix? Where you have to play what the guitarists tell you to play? Where the drummer can't keep time to save his life?"
or
"Do you want to play a central roll in defining a band's sound? Do you want the freedom to use as many or as little effects as you like; and the space in the soundscape to do it?"
I dunno...
For what it's worth my band plays metal. Pretty dynamic, pretty messed up rhythms. But fairly melodic and readily headbangable. Like if Meshuggah got drunk and started an Iron Maiden cover band. If I could choose I'd want Brian Cook in our band. Not that we are like Russian Circles at all but whatever. But anyone would be at home in our band, except for dudes who worship John Myung. We've had three dudes who've played that sort of stuff (who've all flaked for different reasons) and thank god we've gotten rid of the guitarist who loved Dream Theater and kept writing prog metal with a capital Prog. But there's always the risk we could attract one of them...
And if anyone's wondering if bassists keep leaving because we suck or are a shit band to play bass in - which at this point could be a valid question - it's just been circumstances. Every bassist bar one has left where we live and moved to a non-commutable distance for life reasons. The other dude got sick of metal altogether and started to play upbeat, kinda ethereal pop (they're quite good if you like that thing - https://www.facebook.com/karleksfabriken).
tl;dr We need a new bassist again. We've got a rad drummer and we want a bassist to come in and own shit. How to find?

What do bassists want? Mmmmmm! You could probably start by offering to bolt a condom machine to the side of his amp. Also some primo buds to smoke might also entice one. But seriously dude that sucks. Hope you find the bassist you need that wont be a fly by nighter of a total flake.

If it's any consolation, I would love to play in your band Goroth, if only it weren't for the commute...
I'm more like a mids-ist than a bassist.

As for what bassists want... if you say "rad drummer" I'm there. So.

So this. I'd kill to play with you dude.
Usually it's a lonely bassist looking for a band, not the other way around. Bassists are a dime a dozen.
