I've not had the chance to try it out with the loudness or in a band context yet....but I'm getting all the signs of its true potential for brutality. My black forest is really enjoying being jacked up by it as well, so I can't wait to level cities with the two cranked up. Boss has done a heap of great shit, people just hate because they paid too much for their meh tones I think. Most ILFers are down with the whole, "who gives a fuck what it is or what it costs, as long as it blows minds and rapes eardrums, you're in business" mentality, so the hate isn't so strong around here.theavondon wrote:Dude, straight up. Dude, it's beyond me why the FZ-2 is overlooked so much. I actually tried a couple really nice boutique superfuzz clones, assuming they're better versions of the FZ-2, since they were just really good copies of the old shin-ei/univox pedals...
Sold everything, kept the FZ-2. More gain, thicker, and well...just unique, unlike anything out there. Cuts through a mix like a battering ram, it's about as subtle as an rpg. I'm guessing you know that already:) One of the most brutal sounding fuzz pedals from the world biggest effects company, that's currently notorious for their meh fuzz pedals. How's that for irony?
Do it! Also, that mf drive into pharaoh must sound like titties. Plus I like your delay/verb choices there.Harry_Manback wrote:This happened totally by accident...but now I want an all black Pharaoh to tie it up.Iommic Pope wrote:...I now want to build a board that is only black and chrome/steel/silver.![]()

Nice, sounds like it's awesome, thanks.maggot wrote:The Fuzzalo is great. If you turn the waveform knob counter-clockwise it's got this loud, mellow, fuzzy crunch; clockwise, you get sputtery, gated fuzz with plenty of sustain - until it cuts off. It's got no gain control, so you need to be good with the Volume knob of your guitar, or else get a little on/off volume pedal like I did. With the waveform knob counter clockwise, you have about 4 levels of fuzz as you back off the volume knob: Super compressed, singing fuzz, then slightly brighter, more defined fuzz, then a kind of 60s Zep fuzz, and then fuzz that could do a decent version of "Rumble." Backing off the volume with the waveform knob clockwise, and it gets sketchy but fun, with no sustain.
The great thing is that most of the sounds are fairly easy on the ears, but they cut through. I mostly use it for more conventional fuzz-rock tones, and use the Devi for the noisier stuff but I could easily use the Fuzzalo for both, just by messing with the knob. Running the Fuzzalo into the Devi, this weird thing happens where low notes sound super buzzy and brassy, but higher notes sound super dark.

Yeah, I'd like to test one out. There're so many pedals I wanna get though.HorseyBoy wrote:^ Play one if you get the chance, Chank. I'm going to pick one up sooner or later. Probably sooner.

Board is pretty simple right now, but I'll need to find a way to squeeze 3 more pedals on there in the next week or so. Or get a bigger board. But I dunno if I should get a pt Jr or go ahead and get the next biggest one. Gotta plan ahead, especially if I keep getting Fuzzes. Which I will.

Thanks man! I have a pretty specific vision for my pedalboard, but some "wild cards" keep popping up, like the Goodbye 24. I'm hoping my next purchase (after a new board) will be an IE Nimbus or a Polytope.PetZounds wrote:Dude, tight!neonblack wrote:

Looks like you've got something pretty sick coming together.
Love that mini.
