Re: The Confessions Thread
I spent a lot of time dicking around, hanging out, partying, playing music etc. instead of "finding a real job and becoming an adult" and doing the whole 'plastics, ben, the future is plastics' thing.
I kind of wish I was still doing that.

Same. If there was a band that actually played and sounded the way people describe QOTSA they would be awesome!spacelordmother wrote:I think that QOTSA are so fucking bad. I really really don't get what other people see in them at all.

someone around here once referred to it as the ADD$499.95.Achtane wrote:I think the AD4096 is crazily overpriced and its dirt doesn't even sound that good, certainly not good enough to warrant the cost.

Okay, okay, civil face, donny. What is it that you guys don't like? Because, there might be a band that like...does all the things you want? OR, honestly, there might be a QOTSA song/era that you might actually dig.

I'm down on the era thang. I can't do their recent stuff.
Not saying its bad, its just not for me.
They are a great live band.

The "not for me" is something I can understand. And, their recent stuff in comparison to even Songs for the Deaf is just like a completely different band.

Re: The Confessions Thread
I think that I've just never heard anything that really caught me, and the hype machine is always driving so hard and telling me that I'm missing something makes me shout a big fuck you. Someone recently posted a full live vid and I flipped all through it, but thought it was all completely half-assed bluesy shit and so so boring. Songs aside even the performance was half-assed and boring.theavondon wrote:The "not for me" is something I can understand. BUT.
I just started "Songs for the Deaf" on der tubes and NOW THIS! is something I might be able to hang with.

Yeah, I'm all sweet with them up until that record. After that...I dunno.
I've seen em live a heap of times since though and they're always great.

Re: The Confessions Thread
New QOTSA took some time for me to get in to, whereas Songs For The Deaf-era was an instant connection.
Sick Sick Sick was the only post-SftD song I would listen to for a while.
