Sounds so unbelievably dirty. Bass VI + SS/BS Buzzz = HEAVY
But the low E isn't even tuneable its so damned floppy.
I just ordered a custom set from LaBella. I can't wait for those to come in.
Also probably going to order a Staytrem.
Not sure if the Staytrem will go on the Bass VI or the JM though. Currently have the Warmoth Modified Mustang bridge on the JM
Nice - where did you get that one from (which L&M, as I assume that's where it came from)?
It came from the L&M in Oshawa. I ordered it sometime in September I think. They were pretty good about it even though it took so long to get here.
You know, I thought it might be from Oshawa... I just returned a white Bass VI to there last week (picked up a Sonic Blue VMJM) after buying it from there in January. I'm wondering if it's the same one? Is yours brand-new or was it discounted? Were the posts wrapped when you got it?
It was brand new. They literally opened the box up in front of me. I never had a look around to see if they had another one there.

Awesome. Funny timing though - I literally returned mine on Friday. It's prob out on the floor at a small discount; I never actually used it very much and figured I could use another JM more. They're such nice instruments for the price (Bass VI) but a bit of a nice. Interested to hear how often you use yours now. Congrats!

Thanks. That was funny timing, wish I could have gotten a small discount but the price was pretty awesome as it is. At the moment it's all I'm playing but that's probably just because it's still new to me. I really like it though. Depending how it sits in a band setting it might actually replace my bass. I've already got a couple guitars so don't feel like I *need* any more. But I've only got one bass so it's kind of filling that hole nicely

Hahah congrats

I got to say the Bass VI is so much much more fun than I expected
I can't stop playing it
I found such a great droning feedback sound with the Bass VI through Ghost Echo > Buzzz > Fuck > Dispatch Master
Heavy octave fuzz from the Buzzz and max feedback + shortest possible delay time from the DM (just a light reverb and OD from the other two; they're always on)
On top of that I've been messing with a Superego with a Pitch Bay in the loop at the start of that chain
So damned good

I can't wait to get the new strings and bridge to make it even more usable and awesome!

Finally got all the parts and some free time to finish up my VI:
New pickguard, new Trem assembly, new strings

Might have gone a little too far with the fat .106 low e.. but at least it isn't floppy anymore and is actually usable for dropped d.

I had it on for a while, but it didn't really look the way I wanted. So I got another one :D

So I got drunk playing my Squire Bass VI last night (...this could be a thread in itself...)
What on Earth was wrong with me?! How could I ever doubt my need for a Bass VI?
This has literally become my favourite guitar ever. EVER!
I accidentally beat it up a bit but it made me love it even more! (kind of hard to see in this picture but whatever)

Seriously, don't be stupid like me, if you're second guessing it, just buy it! This thing is amazing!
It needed a bit of work (at least a .095 for the low E and definitely something along the lines of a Staytrem bridge)
But seriously, can't get enough of it

EDIT: I might also be a bid drunk right now.........

Yea, the finish is relatively thin, my maid knocked it off its stand when I got it and it has a couple relicing spots. Almost as thin as the modern MIJ finishes.

My pedalboard costs approximately 191 Metal Zones.

the first ding is always the most painful. at least now you can play the hell out of it and not give a shit.

I literally have not seen one of these in Australia anywhere yet.. and the retail price here is $749.

Wasn't even painful, it's on the body and the side, you'd have to have me point it out.

Truthfully I don't care what the stuff looks like as long as it's preferably not Oly White or Black or unbearably cheap busrt.

It's cheap burst but not the godawful plywood hell I was afraid of.

And a Bass VI in hand was well, a Bass VI.

Fuck it, it plays well and makes me happy!

I didn't play it long with the stock bridge, but yes, staytrem made such a difference.

That's insane. Mine came to somewhere over $500, after taxes and including two gig bags, a trem arm for my Jazzmaster, and a couple sets of strings

And I'm not too worried about dings.
I think every guitar needs a few before I can really consider it my guitar
Plus I'll always prefer a beat up relic'd look to something pristine and clean
