I don't care one way or another about guns, but I think the 2nd amendment is fucking retarded.

I'm no American Constitutional Lawyer/Law Expert by any means, but I remember hearing somewhere that your 2nd Amendment (which is the right to bear arms, yes? I wish I had some gnarl grizzly arms....but that's another point) is actually that every American has the right to take up arms to defend their country, not to arm themselves, and that it has been misinterpreted over the years.
Again, I heard that somewhere...probably on the Midday interview with Margeret Throsby. So, dunno how that sits with you guys.

Right. Ostensibly it says that no citizen can be denied the right to own/bear arms. The reasoning for that originally stemmed from the founding of the country, but ever since (I think 2008) the ruling per the Supreme Court has been that the 2nd amendment applies to citizens' rights to own and carry weapons.

Yeah, getting a gun here is kind of pathetically easy. Ammo, on the other hand....

annnnnnnnd i liked that Bodyguard 380 a LOT, but to get it legally in CA you have to change the barrel, put in a plugged magazine, transfer it under a "single shot exemption", then change the barrel and mag back. that's just a hassle. and i get worried about sidestepping laws, even if they're asinine laws.
