Definitely going to need to try this. I thought the bridge was alright, the individual saddles stay up ok, but last night I played pretty hard and it turns out the main bridge screws can't handle that so the whole thing fell down... Not great. I'll try loctite since it's cheaper than a staytrem and if it works, great.aen wrote:I would really suggest trying some loctite (or similar) thread locking... goo. I just squirted it into the grub screws after I set up the stock bridge again. Seems VERY VERY solid. I mean, if you want to spring for a mastery, I hear they are really nice. And I might get one anyway, but for now the stock bridge has been put back on and thread-locked.

$50 or more retail nets a little more QC, especially at that level.
Can cut the screws or file if they just need a minor adjustment.

Wooo .095" string acquired, low E now functional. Wish I had more than my little practice amp for bass, but I probably just annoyed my neighbours plenty with that and some fuzz.

So I just got word my "local" store just got mine in.
But I kind of already decided to not get it.
But now that it's there I'm kind of interested again
I won't be able to make it to the store for like a month though

I think if you have already been able to lose interest, it may not be for you
All that said I love mine and I think your silly for deciding you dont want it

A lot of the reason I lost interest is because I picked up a Jazzmaster, which really fulfilled my guitar related gasPsyre wrote:MrNovember wrote:So I just got word my "local" store just got mine in.

I think if you have already been able to lose interest, it may not be for youit takes a little effort to get to full on dependablility, but you may not need it if your not currently crazy for it still.

I can almost hear myself kicking myself in a couple months when it's gone and I'm gassing for it again
My choice is pretty much going to fall between a new pedal (Cloudsleep, Raptio, or GB24), a keyboard, or the Bass VI...so we'll see I guess

The thing I can tell you is that I assumed the original MIJ rissue VIs would be around and cheap forever in 95 or 96 when they did them. And kicked myself for not grabbing one when they were in a range I could swing.
The first two categories ain't going nowhere.

I can understand a Jazzy fulfilling guitar needs but you need the VI to fulfill those bass needs. Entirely different instruments, like zero overlap.

I have some overlap in them, it's sort of the 'single instrument making me happy when the Jazz Bass and Jaguar wouldn't' for me most of the time.
Can't see ditching my regular six strings for it though, although the Jazz is becoming increasingly redundant.

Mr. Furtkamp makes good points there. I'm definitely glad I didn't sleep on either of my CIJ Jaguar Baritone Customs. If I was looking at Bass VI's right now, I'd try to get hands on with the Squier and the Pawn Shop and see if either one of them knocked my socks off. With the Jag Baritones there was very little hesitation when I had them in hand. There are always pedals and whatever else.

OM NOM NOM NOM

Believe the hype. This is the RIGHT bridge. For all of these "offset with tremolo" instruments.
