I've always fancied those bongos. I like that color too. I think the pick guard would look better if the humbuckers were white too

I am definitely getting a different pickguard, something orangish maybe IDK. It would be easy to make something pop with that blue.

I thought about a Tort. It is one of the ones that have made it to further consideration.

I had a Bongo 5 and 4 and both were fucking awesome. The Bongo is one of my favorite MM basses. It's balls to the wall all the time. Super punchy. Let me know what you think.

So I was thinking of getting rid of my 6 string because of pain in my wrists, but the more I play it, the more comfortable it's become. Now I'm really starting to get into it. This leaves me in a dilemma though. I played my MTD 435 the other day, and the neck felt too thin. Almost like a toy. I don't know if I can switch back and forth. Fuck. I may try and trade someone for a 535. I wonder if anyone would do that? Excane? EXCANE???? I use the B string all the time now. LOVE it.
Stick with the 6 for a month before you go GAS crazy again. I  you. Most bass players who play 6 strings rarely ever go back to 4 or even 5 strings. The extra tonal range you get with the B and C stings opens up a lot of possibilities, especially when you primarily play by yourself.

Also the Big Al from EB MM was a hot hot bass. More growl to it than the bongo but zomg it had some balls.

Anyone have any experience with the 3 leaf audio enabler?

The Big Al SSS is a MONSTER, all of the pickup options, that 4 band pre, active/passive. Really amazing tone, the neck was a tad narrow for me, Sterling sized, whereas the Bongo is Stingray sized. If the neck was wider and they offered a 6, I would have gone for it.

You know, I thought about saying something to you about checking one of those out. I have no experience is why didn't say anything.

Everyone on Talk Butt has one. And I know from owning a 3 leaf pedal that they make really quality gear. I might really splurge on my birthday and get me one in addition to the computer parts I wanted.

However I really want to stalk it before I pull the trigger.

I will let you know for sure. I know I like the Preamp, it is the same as the 25th and Big Al. I am stoked to have a 6er.

I will probably put a different pick guard on it.

YES! People love or hate Bongos.

Too many strings? Ugly? Color?
All of the above?

I don't dislike it, I have always found them interesting. Apart from the pickguard, the rest I could work with no problem. A plain color pickguard would better suit this modern looking instrument IMHO. But some peeps might dig this contrasting look.
I could do with a good 6 string workhorse too!

Looks like it was designed by a committee - all if the individual elements are pretty cool but the thinger as a whole is blä.

And one member of the committee was lacking inspiration the day they designed it but had a light bulb moment in the bathroom?

That was one of the things that got me the boot from TB... I photoshopped a pic of a dog squatting taking a shit with the bass halfway out its ass.

Totally worth it.

EDIT - It might have been the big Al. Doesn't much matter since they both look like dogshit.
