I'm very very happy with it but obviously not big enough for you US folks but we're only a small island so it's all reasonable sized rigs, at least til Conan come over.

Next up is finishing up the standard tuned punk'n'roll rig then putting them both together.

I wouldn't really know, Ancient Astronaut usually has the scope on speakers.

speakers for a 2x15? Guitar or bass? are the 85's in a 4x12 or 2x12? what is the impedance of the cab you'll be mating the 2x15 too? Whats your budget for the speakers? What are your tonal goals of adding the 2x15?

I know its like 20 questions but I'd rather get you the right speaker the first time.

Two demos of the Dobsky here:

Thanks dude. Sie and Nick to thank for the demos, I'm still too scared to be recording myself outside of a band.

But now that it's all big, how will the ants play it?

Seriously though, I bet it sounds killer!
The ants can undergo nuclear mutation to be people sized. Lots of people dismiss bugera amps but its a budget doomachine. Matched with the cute red tolex of a vtm cab. Gotta love those g12k-85s.
Bugera got that rap due to one of their early releases tending to catch fire. They have fixed that and make some good sounding amps now. Only reason I would not be into them is that I like ptp wired amps, for ease of maintenance. Valid point about the Ants.

Dude, please find a way to save that cab. that is a killer thing and they aren't making any more of them.

For 15" speakers i like the Emi Legend 1518 if i want more mellow and bassy, the Emi Big Ben if i want more aggressive and bright

If his cab is a 4x12 16ohm I would probably recommend the legend 1518. That way he would have a 16ohm 300w cab with 102 db to match with his current 340w 102db cab (If i remember correctly the 85's are 99db and with 4 it bumps it up by 3db which would put it around 102) so they would be of similar perceived volume but with more low end. The Big Ben's would make the 2x15 a 450w 100db cab, so it would be noticeably quieter as it wouldn't be being pushed as hard as well as having a lower sensitivity rating.

This is all relative to live and practice playing, if your using it mainly in the studio it wouldn't make much difference other than the frequency response of the speakers. Which you described accurately in comparison to my observations as well.

I like that i didnt have to answer any pf those questions for that. Thank you for the info. Those speakers seem relatively cheap. Now to (eventually) build the enclosure.
