It isn't Mini though, Full sized and it has both the early gnarly filter and the later creamier filter.
Cool but still overpriced IMO

I played an MS20 mini the other day and it was a lot smaller than I thought it would be haha. same with all the other comparable smaller analogs that are popular right now.

hmmm yeah $1400. lame. pretty sure the originals have dropped to around that thanks to the mini...space6oy wrote:oh crazy! i just saw the kit in an email. full size?! that's crazy. how much are they selling it for?
plus only 1000 kits and i didn't see anything about preordering. no soldering required though. will be interesting to see if all of those are instantly grabbed...

Synth bros! How do you guys feel about the microbrute? Im kind of a synth noob. I have a dx7 but use it mostly for its electric piano sounds. Im not a keys noob but I dont have much experience with filters/oscillators/etc. I was curious to see what you guys thought about it.

I think most of agree that for the price, it is hard to beat. The Mini/Microbrute filters are based of Steiner filters (which is good. The knob or slider per function User Interface is great, makes learning about synthesis easier. I would say the Oscillators are okay but I like the sliders for mixing them so that is cool. It has some decent modulation routing plus CV and a step sequencer which really ups it's value. GET IT.

Yeah thanks dude. I just ordered one. I think the step sequencer will really come in handy and be a whole lot of fun. I watched the bald english guy sonicsynth or something and he really showed it off well I think.Deltaphoenix wrote:I think most of agree that for the price, it is hard to beat. Yeah, the Sonic State guy is Nick Batt. If you listen to Goldfrapp, you've heard his work. Dude is so awesome! Nick did a video tour/interview with William Gregory (the main synth dude behind Goldfrapp.) I'll find and post the video later.
The Brutes are hella badass! Not for everyone, but no synth is. Highly recommended
