I'm launching an Island of Misfit 7s project: there was a period from 1998-2002 or so when a number of manufacturers were experimenting with non-superstrat 7-strings, often only for a year or two on an individual model before the market beat it out of them. For a long time, my personal white whale was a Schecter Jazz-7 hollowbody, which I found on eBay a couple of years ago (and it now kicks *serious* ass with a pair of BKP Black Dogs). As soon as I can dig myself out from under current debt, I'm gonna buy and mod at least one Ibanez AX7521, and I've got a few other models on the wish list. A couple of the more difficult-to-find:
Schecter T-7 (preferably in gloss walnut or black, but I'd take cherry)
Yamaha AES-RS7, the Ryan Shuck sig model (again, preferably in black)
DeArmond Sevenstar

If you do not bring forth what is within you, what you do not bring forth will destroy you.
