Yeah, this. Plus, I never consider my boards to be anything special anymore. But, that kinda makes the workhorse category perfect for me. I've lessened the outlandishness of my boards because I've been playing so many goddamned shows.

I think one reason why I never do well in BILF is because my boards are basically set, and I'm not willing to tear them apart and make a ringer/all-star board of my best/most prestigious/expensive pedals just for the contest. I just pick one of my two boards as is and enter it.

Coolio. Are prizes randomly drawn, like raffle style? With so many awesome builders on this forum, and so many pedal freaks, I think more people would be motivated to enter if it's a random drawing.

Agreed. That's always been my hangup with pedal board beauty contests...one man's tools may not be as pretty or expensive or nicely laid out as others. Thus the random drawing idea.
