Medium output, good treble response, balanced lows and mids. It's a janglier humbucker, its no where near a real WRHB but I liked it, especially the clean tones.colossus wrote:Beautiful. How is that GFS humbucker?

Got the Baritone neck yesterday, it was a surprise for Christmas from my mom! The tuners and string trees along with the strings have been ordered today. Should hopefully have it together next week!

The neck fit like a glove last night. I'm stoked on it. I wanted to bolt it on last night but I'm being patient until the tuners come in so I can get those installed and have it ready to go. We gotta hang out after I get it built

Thanks dude! Orange Jazzy was actually put together by Cobascis, another dude on the forum that isn't around too too much anymore sadly. But after I bought it off of him I replaced the neck, the pickguard, the bridge pickup, the bridge, rewired everything, so the only thing that's really original is the orange body!

Re: My First TELEMASTER (ALL DONE)
Spent a few hours between last night and this morning getting the tuners installed on the neck.
Then I tried to get the neck seated into the body and attached, and that's when things went sour.
APPARENTLY, and I have no clue how, the neck holes on the body of the Telemaster were drilled about 1/8" lower than they should have been. I tried seating both the baritone neck and the MIM Strat neck that was on the Jazzmaster and had the same problem with both. So I spent a while with a router slowly working the neck angle on the guitar pocket to try to get it to fit properly. I still need to shave about 1/10" off of the inside heel of the pocket, but I'm thinking I can get it to work soon. Just really, really frustrating to say the least

Re: My First TELEMASTER (ALL DONE)
What about pluging the holes in the body and re-drilling new ones...? It's a really easy fix. That way you don't mess with the pocket and neck angle, which you might end up regreting

Re: My First TELEMASTER (ALL DONE)
I could do that as well. I've had bad experiences with other people's plugging that have kind of put it out of my head though, just because of blown plugs etc. But it is a possibility. I got the neck to a point where the screws are at about a 20 degree angle when I loose set them into the neck, which still makes me uncomfortable, but is a lot better than what it was.Decibill wrote:What about pluging the holes in the body and re-drilling new ones...? Took a Dremel to the Telemaster neck pocket, shaved 2mm off the heel, and the neck fit like a glove.
It's all good to go. I'm so stoked on it. It sounds HUGE. Currently strung with Ernie Ball Baritone strings. Volume knob splits the humbucker.
