Yeah, my new basses are still too clean. It's like having a pair of new shoes that are too clean so you don't want to wear them. But then they aren't comfortable either.behndy wrote:GreyGrey - yah. i feel you on the OH GAWD BE CAREFUL way too expensive basses. would freak me out and i don't want to care.
i'm actually... a little bummed i haven't put but one small ding in mines. that and some scratching where i finger are all the cosmetic Awesome Touches so far. durn it.
I really want to see a beat up dingwall. That would be cool. Some tour lovin' on it.

And gigged it last night. Kept it in parallel/passive for the whole set with the treble rolled slightly off.

Travis, just send me one of your Mustangs why don't ya
I really need to refinish my short-scale Hondo with multiple colors. of the Krylon I bought.
I wanna hack away at it a Place To Bury Strangers style.
Do any of y'all tune lower than D on a short-scale? If so, any crazy intonation issues?

Re: The Kitten Room and TB Mega Thread ^.^
I think this Musicmaster has some kind of black undercoat. The dings in the paint are black, which is pretty cool.
Really hoping it is because that would look amazing.
Finally got the neck all straightened out and action flat after a few hours of work. This fucker needs some new tuning pegs. The stock ones take two hands to turn sometimes.
And I replaced the pickup with a blade. Massive output now and it sounds even better.
I've never dropped lower than D. Gets too floppy. Mustang Basses have individual saddles so intonation shouldn't be a problem. On a Musicmaster, probably going to have some issues with the two saddle bridge.
Finding strings that are thick enough to drop tune on shorties is also a challenge. You could probably pull off C# on a stock set but a C would get pretty crazy floppy.

No, it's that the frets clash with his shirt.D.o.S. wrote:So those gig picks seal the deal--no slanted shit for me.
If you wear the right outfit, slanted frets are fine.
