Dude, that's awesome. There are heaps of forum dudes who own/operate companies, or are sponsored. As long as you are honest with your opinions and don't try any cheap marketing then you can be as open or as anonymous as you like with your connections to the industry. And what I like about this joint is that people can rave just as much about a new Digitech product, or a modded DS-1, or something that is rare as hens' teeth. On the other hand people are also prepared to call a spade a spade and if a product sucks it'll get hammered, regardless of any "prestige" associated with the manufacturer. Intelligent fuzzy fun in other words.leaves turn wrote:Hey all, I've been lurking for a while, getting a feel for the forum, liked what I saw and bit the bullet. I'm a mediocre guitarist with a reasonable pedal collection, and I dabble in synth and sampling. I love creating and manipulating sound. I like lots of different genres but I'd say my playing is some combination of shoegaze, surf, and post-hardcore. Generally bad.
Currently used fuzzes are the Microsynth and a modified PLL (breadboarded... I've been putting off the boxing for months). I like my fuzz with lots of switches and knobs.
Disclosure: I'm a little nervous that you'll judge me for this, but I work for one of the larger guitar effects brands. I'm not here as a representative of the company, or as a shill or a PR guy. I'm with the company because I love this stuff. I'm here because I love this stuff. I'm just looking for a place with grounded discussions on music hardware, and I hope that I've found it.
Rock on dude.
