Its been a great guitar. bought it back in 95ish and its been problem free, easy to set up for low fast action or on up to where you like. its really comfortable to play, the neck is nice and thick. even though its a semi-hollow, its pretty easy to get feedback, which I something I use alot. with the p90's is has a nice and fat bassy tone with the neck pup, think jazz comping, the bridge pup is bright but still pretty thick and dimensional. I guess the acoustics add a richness to the rawness of the p90s. it came stock with p100 stacked humbuckers and i just didn't care for them. i'd think it would be easy to fall in love with the 135. good lucktuffteef wrote:hows the 135? im thinking of buying one with buckers though

Well, its high quality and a fine instrument for sure, i bought mine when I was working as an instrument salesman in an independent music shop and have no plans on getting rid of it. I wouldn't really consider it an alternative to the 335. I think the 335 is far too versatile, and the 135 is maybe shoehorned into a jazz box. Not to say you can't play whatever however you want with either, the 335 is capable of far more tones, whereas the 135's tone is always going to be colored by its acoustics and depth. but its all subjective.
All that said, i'd recommend that you get one. I didn't now they were still in production. I thought they stopped back in the late 90's. all the best

That's a pretty sweet oddball como. Not what people would expect at all if you said you have a Fender guitar and a Rickenbacker bass!

I wonder when Fender will get around to having Squier put out Lead reissues.
The Ricky, is that the same one Mani used? Short scale bolt-on, right?

Thanks!
Not sure who mani is
My rick is a 20.75" scale set neck. Ric made these for a couple years in the 90's, up to 50 a year while in production. It's a "copy" of the 1959 325 john lennon played. but mine is hollowbody maple whereas john's was alder. also these pups are hotter. mine is from 1996.

Bass VI is in the house finally! Haven't fixed it up yet - I've got a black pearl pickguard and a custom la bella round set to go on it. Just waiting for my tech to get back in town to do the full setup along with it!
