It's was the mods. It was John Turner. He's an admin isn't he?? That's even worse. What a fucking ass hole.

It sounds like an Oxide to me :thumb: Is it a bit like muff variants where builders try a dozen ways to say its different before admitting its their new ultra-special version? Nothing wrong with elaborating on other circuits out there and trying new angles but it's strange that an acknowledgement of the inspiration for the idea is missing. The must be worried that people might go OG and get an Oxide.

I get that the B3K is a great pedal. I tried the vintage and thought it was pretty cool in a Sansamp VT kinda way. I'm sure this one will be good too (in an Oxide kinda way). But away from the masturbatory Talkbass excitement, it seems like Darkglass have started to slide down the innovation curve a bit lately.

Doug just said "Thanks! I honestly wasn't aware that the concept was already made popular by someone else, but that's cool... don't expect to reinvent the wheel anyways.".

beyond him making the OD that the first time i played it i was all YAHP. THIS IS WHAT I WANT. he's an awesome guy. super nice to and fun to talk to.

I've always wanted to try out the B3K, all the demos for it sound really meaty. I like meat

It's surprising how many builders end up saying 'I had no idea there were effects out there like this, I thought I was innovating!" Really? Don't you research your ideas before busting em out?

I too am a big Douglas fan, he's a super cool guy. But it reminds me when someone went on TB and mentioned they are making a revolutionary dual-channel distortion effect that's never been done before, etc.... and Frank from FEA got on and said, 'um... let me point you to several effects sites, including mine, where this has been tried before. And if you need any advice on how to implement it, let me know'.

Weird. I guess my rifs are all original too, since I made em up.

And no matter how much Spencer touts the plastic side jacks that stick out like twice as far as conventional jacks I'll never be convinced. But whatever, it's their design, and it works, so...

Not saying some people don't play stupid intentionally, but I've totally been down the rabbit hole only to find out that my rad THINGY has already been done.

Then you have 2 options based on you current financial state:
1) sell stuff you love/use now and live with the consequence of new awesome gear!

2) sell stuff eventually and live with the consequence of new awesome gear later!

I play for $krilla at the moment so I've put a very serious ban on my whims and I'm only allowed to buy new gear that I use on the gigs that will earn money or that will replace existing gear that earns money. It sucks. Yet I persevere.

(I also don't include buying algos for the h9... That's like a new effect weekly)

Also I'm just curious:

I've seen so many threads on here and talkbass that more or less just call out people with low post counts as noobz and I understand and even subscribe to that sentiment, but should I refrain from this thread til I earn my stripes around here? I don't wanna be that guy. Yet I don't really feel the tinkling to post anywhere but here and the gear forum?
