Completely off topic from the political-ish stuff and bass trades...

I ordered some flatwounds for my mustangs. Not sure whether to put them on the maple or rosewood fretboard. It's like, make the rosewood super bassy and the maple super bright for contrasting tones or go for similar medium ground on both? I feel like the first would make more sense so that there is more use for both of them. Maybe it'll just have to be one of those things to try and see.
Then again it seems like most of you guys use rounds so

Hahaha, I figured you guys would say that. But sometimes they work well for straightforward rhythm playing. And they sound good with fuzz usually.

Think I will go with them on rosewood. For maximum tonal separation between basses.

Sorry, I'm just catching back up because this week has been crazy. But I just wanted to say that this comic actually pissed me off. Munroe really lost some credibility points with me for this one. As someone who considers themselves pretty damned liberal, I've been getting quite sick of most democrats trying to mock anyone who's pissed about the NSA surveillance, all because they want to support Obama. Not everyone who is pissed about the NSA is a conspiracy nut, and not everyone who cares about privacy is a crypto-nerd.

i kinda slap? like, i'm awful at it, but for a riff with a lot of string crossing or where i want a more PANK PANK rhythmic tonal thing i.... hit with my thumb and pluck with my fingie.

i wouldn't go so far as calling it SLAPPING though.
