The Gaytheist video is sick!!!!! :yay:

Beast in the Field..... is quickly becoming one of my new fav bands! His use of an octave pedal is genius, its the raw energy and and vibe of CKY / QOTSA gone super fucking heavy. And those amps!!!

Welcome to the sanctuary
:hello:

dazedbyday wrote:So Beast in the Field just released a new video for a song off their new album coming out. Since you guys dug the last one I figured I would share it here:

I also got my new guitar in the mail. It is great. I will post some pics once I install the new pickups. I am still waiting for one pickup which will hopefully be delivered tomorrow early so I will have time to install it before the show.

For the reverb, the supermoon caught my attention through those guitar pro shop videos. It makes me want to grab it to stick at the end of my chain but I already have a big board and enough other shit to play with. Although it might be a nice pair with the supernatural reverb.

Really diggin this. The hoodies in the woods thing might be a bit played out but the music kills and that's totally my kinda rig. Holy shit I don't even know what all is going on there. Rad stuff.
:doom:

What pups are you going with? I just got and tried out some Lace aluma90 riffians and am totally digging them so far. The guys seemed to like it to as at the last practice there was some discussion about how good shit sounded even though we were going with half the usual amps and cabs. Only drawback seems to be massive high pitch feedback but since I use a volume pedal for cutting signal when not playing it's not really an issue for me.

My bandmate also just gave me this photo he took of me at the OM concert at the Met.

And Ax, I decided to go with dimarzios again becase they sound great and are fairly cheap for seven string pickups. I got the PAF7 again for the neck and this time I figured I would try their blaze neck pickup for the bridge position. Their website suggested using it like that as it will be like a paf but with a little more juice. I have an air norton 7 in the semi hollow right now and it is alright but it is kinda trebly so I wanted to try something a bit different. We shall see if I accomplish that goal.

Cool man, only dimarzio's I've tried were the Sd's, I liked em but not so much that I started putting them in everything. Post a review when you get them in and set up to where you're happy with it.

mad jealous of you getting to hit that show. Props for the Dunwich reppin!

The dimarzios are nice. I only have them in the seven strings. In my baritone and other agile I actually have guitar fetish pickups so I tend to go cheap. But everything sounds good, so I have nothing to complain about. I have been meaning to make some recordings of things like nick and skip post on here every now and then but I'm lazy/busy and I need to go to the practice space to do that. And usually when I am at the practice space we have the full band there so no time for extra stuff. Hopefully I can set aside a day soon because I want to make some recordings and video of a few things I have bought and a few things I have built. Especially once I get the head shell built for my amp and I drag it to the space on the train. I wore the dunwich because I figured some of the OM magic might be absorbed and incase the wood wizard was able to snag a craigslist ticket and make it to the show. I had an extra ticket since my girlfriend had to go out of town but my bass player snagged it up. Otherwise it would have gone to TJ.

ryan, if you put the 18 in there would it be a better idea to separate the cab internally into 2 chambers? I know there are those old peavey cabs that have that kinda combo in them but I don't know if they have separate chambers.

the cab I've got cooking with Jeff Murrow will have 4x12 and 2x15. we discussed the idea of internal separation for the different speakers and his thoughts were that it will probably not matter with the volume that will be there. our current plan is to leave it open with the option of building baffles at a later date.

DBD, hope you can do some demo's Clean tone and then with dirt is always appreciated ;)

yeah all the pairs are separated
what are your guys opinions on the horn
is it worth it to hook up
if that cab normally only gets low end
and most of the time -1 octave

I use naked strings. They are pretty cool and play well. I got them for my seven string and will order them again when I need some more. And unless they changed it I think you get like 5 sets for $20 with one set of the five being free
edit: yeah buy three get 2 free
