I bought the first one because too many of my friends had SG's but I liked the new Gibson faded line (this was right when they came out a dozen or so years ago) so I figured the V would be cool and a little different from what I typically saw. About 2-weeks after buying the faded V musiciansfriend had a crazy sale on the Gothic V's so I jumped on it without really thinking about it. I figured I could use it to change a few things up. 10 or so years go by and when I planned on getting my first EGC I realized that somehow without any real intent, I've become a Flying V guy so it only seemed appropriate. I'd like to find a sweet 80's Jackson to really complete things.

It's a Washburn wonderbar. It's strange. It's main selling point was that it could bend whole chords in tune when set up right, like the Steinberger trans trem. It needs to be set up though, because it definitely doesn't do that now. The good thing is that it's flat mount, so if I decide to remove it I'll only have two little screw holes, no routing hack job!

l-r: 70s Ibanez ric 4001 clone (dead on replica except for 1 truss rod rather than 2), Tele Custom (built around a 70s Ibanez body), 1966 Hagstrom II, 65/75 Fender Mustang (built from mainly vintage parts), 60s 'Winston' parlour acoustic, strung with ball end nylon strings.

Getting a mustang was one of the better gear decisions I've made. It's probably the most comfortable guitar I've ever come across.
