Tell me about it! There was a duplex I lived in. And my rear-neighbor was standing behind the fence that separated my yard from his. Dude called out to me as I was about to head back in my house after I had a cig. So I asked what was up. He said he saw shadows moving through his living room from outside (so I'm guessing he was returning home and hadn't made it inside yet). Anyway, he asked me if I'd go in with him in case someone was inside. So I agreed. We get in, and no one was in his house. I saw pieces of his ceiling on the floor, and the place smelled like burning wires and doodoo. He apologized for bothering me with it, saying he was paranoid from being stabbed so many times. He then proceeds to show me some of his stab wounds by lifting up his shirt and offering the disclaimer that he "wasn't a f*g or nuthin". So I'm just like "O-k....". Then he asked me if I wanted to smoke. It's pretty common knowledge that I like the weed, so I'm like, "well sure!" Dude proceeds to hand me a bent up Pepsi can and I'm like "oh, dude-I can run and grab my bowl real quick, or some papers". And he was said that neither of those would work. Then it sort of occurred to me he might not have been talking about weed. "What are you talkin' about smokin', man?" and he points to these boulders on his kitchen table. I told him he had me fucked up, that I only liked booze and weed. Never went back over there again. Oh but he came to my house. At 4am, wanting to use my phone to call the dope man. I was just lying down to sleep off a drunk, so it pissed me off but good. I chased his ass out of my yard and threw my neighbor's bike at the dude. That was that. Never saw ol' Crackhead Dave again.

Truth be told, my crack head dealings were in my home state of Georgia, when I was piss-poor and living in shady neighborhoods. There's actually meth-a-plenty in Alabama. About 15 minutes from where I live now, there's a trailer park/meth commune. No more hipsterism in the thread because crack heads and meth heads scare hipsters. meth heads scare ME, and i've had multiple close friends who became crack/powder cocaine addicts. they all managed to keep the basic structure of their lives relatively intact. it's the ones on meth that destroyed their families, lost their jobs, and otherwise turned themselves into pathetic shadows of themselves.

Yeah, meth is some bad, bad shit. Can't say I'm scared of the people that use it, necessarily. I'm scared to look at 'em, maybe. I just typically don't fear humans, or "pathetic shadows" thereof. What's the worst thing a person can do, kill me? Torture me first? Meh, I say! My corporeal being is temporary. The "soul", or "energy" within is not. Unless it is. In which case, a dreamless and perpetual sleep follows. Fuck, can't be any worse than some of my old jobs...

You're an awesome dude, Ryan. I've done just about everything under the sun, with the exception of bangin' shit, crack, and pcp. I guess I always gravitated towards psychedelics, weed, and booze back in my fiendy-fiend days. I've lost a good friend to the needle, and almost lost another. Like, dude died and was miraculously revived. These days, I don't even really drink. Just have the occasional beer. Smoke the hell out of some pot though. Probably always will. Willie Nelson style.

back in the mid late 90s i used to drop all the time. we had a couple raver buddies that just couldnt have 2 day old blotters so we would buy quarter sheets off him for like 50 bucks! we would sell off enough to make our money back and buy some oj then trip our asses off in the forest preserve.
then ecstasy took over and it was damn tough to find acid. its been like 12 or so years. i would drop again in the proper situation though.
