This amp is a mashup of a few different ideas. The preamp at its base is a Superlead/Superbass but there is an additional EF86 input. The amp can be run with all 3 inputs in parallel (dark, normal, and EF86) or using the Boost switch the signal from the Dark and Normal can be mixed then cascaded into the EF86. All 3 inputs have gain controls, and all gain controls work in either Boost setting. The EF86 has a variable Mode control which allows it to operate as a pentode or triode strapped pentode with infinite adjustment between either Mode. The EQ is a follower driven FMV with added Shift control. Pre-Phase Master Volume with a Presence control. The phase inverter is right out of a Ampeg V4, driving a quad of KT88s. Power supply is fairly close to a DR201 with 650-670V plate, and 410-430V screen.
I can't help but be selfish and say, the conclusion of the Iron Pile means not just Brett getting a new amp (boring!!), but my little combo will be next. Now we're talking.
OK GUYS. I weaseled my way into playing this thing....
I brought my personal purple 2x12 and gave it a quick run at no where near full power, with the 3 knob fuzzz and it was fucking great, this amp rules ass. that is all.
