Oooohhhh!!! That looks fancy.

Due to the "enchant" control, I'm gonna go ahead and say it's a Tim clone.

A Tim clone with an oscilator.

Look good, can't wait to hear a demo.

I was hoping it to be that cool noise maker too, but that's obviously within reaching distance due to a demo being made available, and having a sick vibrato pedal to calm the nerves and anticipation until then isn't such a bad thing.

Sounds like this:

Looks like this:

Described like this:
Back to my roots! (The Vitruvian Mod)
The inspiration behind the Vitruvian Mod goes back to when I first became interested in making and recording music. I didn't have much to work with at 15, so I used whatever I could find.
Looking back the most unlikely piece of gear was also the one that have the best memories of using. It was a Commodore 64.
At first I used the C64 to make backing tracks, which sounded video game-y and very 8 bit.
After a while I discovered the RING MODULATOR function that was built in to the C64. You could use two oscillators to create all kinds of sounds that most 8 bit computers just weren't capable of at the time.
Unlike a typical ring modulator effect where the carrier is static the C64 allowed you to control both the carrier and the note being modulated. By trial and error I found a lot of interesting sounds.
A few years later I tried out a ring modulator pedal at portland music. I believe it was some iteration of the frequency analyzer. I hated it. It really had nothing to do with the sound, but how much of a pain it was to use.
The static carrier and inability to really set anything without lots of fine tuning just made me completely lose interest. (I think I bought a Boss flanger instead)
Last year I saw a Jeri Ellsworth video where she'd hacked a bass guitar and C64 together. It got me all nostalgic about the C64 days and ring modulators.
The big ideal behind the Vitruvian mod is tracking the carrier to perfect harmonic ratios. It can be used more classic static carrier setting as well, but the tracking modes are the way I've always thought it should work.

I can't listen to the clip right now, but the concept of having the carrier signal track is awesome.

That sound clip's quite a teaser, I'd like to hear more of what this pedal can do. Could be very promising.

FINALLY
I've been hoping for something like that for ages, if this really sounds as good as the demo suggests it will probably replace the Moog ring mod for me.
any word on release date yet?

Sorry, I prefer the sound of the Moog or Randy's Revenge. :idk:

Dunno, I just stalk their twitter feed haha. Brian drops in here every now and then.

Brian....

.... Brian???

I'd guess it drops at the end of the summer and costs 199.

I get a free one if I guess right. Brian told me. Twice. With witnesses.
