Yeah, but being vegetarian / pescetarian / vegan isn't all it's cracked up to be.

Vegetarian fast food isn't necessarily easy to come by, but I know a lot of vegans who don't eat particularly healthy.

Vegan junk food lives!!!

Veggie! Eating so is getting easier these days (McDonalds & Burger King both have at least some options) although dedicated places are all but gone or closing down. Rarely eat and struggle to find something veggie, even if it's just chips (sorry 'fries' for you americans) cooked in veg oil rather than animal fat.

I hate vegans though (probably not any of you guys, family members and preachy people) and meat eaters trying to get in to why I don't eat meat, just putting that out there.

mcdonalds does? i know BK has veggie burgers but they fucking blow at preparing them. i boycotted mickey d's WAY before going veggie. then a year or so ago i read how they'd actually become one of the top 10 healthiest fast food chains in USA... still haven't gone back though...

likewise, far as i know i'm the only one in all of my extended family. i don't preach it or anything, just a personal preference.
i haven't run into any preachy vegans i've hated but don't think i'd ever wanna take it that far...

Pretty sure it's ruined someone I knows life being a preachy vegan... wont go further than that. I'm not the only veggie in my family though and a fair few friends are veggie, I cook meat for people that still eat it though (partially because I then know i've done it hygienically and can be certain what needs cleaning properly  and i'm not a bad cook).

Yeah, McDs did a Quorn Chicken burger (assume you US guys get quorn?) for a while, had one when I was like 15 and remember it being quite nice, they definitely do a veggie wrap or two... not personally eaten there in years though, not for any moral reasons, just not had a need or desire to eat in one and every burger king I ever went to was always out of the veggie burgers.

Lots of little kebab places etc do some kind of falafel pita or something similar now though.

I was a vegetarian for a bit. I still don't really eat meat. Lots of Quinoa and other bean things.

I found that the feasibility absolutely changes depending on where you're living.

I quit eating meat and consuming titty milk back around '04 or '05. Decided to see what it's like to be a vegetarian for personal reasons (and ethical reasons). I eventually cut everything else out and became vegan. Like you, space6oy, I haven't touched meat in almost a decade. Not once have I been preachy. I intend to keep it that way.

No idea what the fuck quorn is...

It's like... the worlds most popular substitute meat brand http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quorn

They have a huge variety from ready meals to snack foods to just general chicken/burgers/sausages/steak etc.

Red Veg is another good one and if you get the chance, try a Fry's Poloni Garlic Sausage, it's amazing.

Linda McCartney (as in Pauls dead wife) have a pretty nice range too and you can get some amazing packet mix burgers these days, either own brand or the only name brand I know being Granose.

That shit doesn't exist around here. I don't think any of those brands do.

I could send over the packet mix burgers for any of you guys to try, but the rest of it is pretty much all fresh/frozen so it'd be damn near impossible to send over unless I could find a load of dry ice and money. Thankfully the mix burgers are insanely nice IMO, they make a mix soy mince but it's... just no flavour and always ends up soggy.

Oh, the other thing that would be shippable is vegetarian Pate' tubes, bit of an acquired taste though, although I do like the herb one.

Then there's a few tinned products... mock duck (gluten) braised tofu (tastes the same as mock duck with a different texture to me) and baked beans with mini veggie sausages but shipping could be pricey.
