That my friend, is the Greenhouse Sludgehammer. Classic and modern doom tones in a slick little box. The body brings out the mid/ low mids and the vintage/modern switch changes the character.

Yeah, think nasty, guttural Doom tones from the 70s and 80s. There isn't much out there like it from what I can tell. I'm sure some pedals can cop it with the right tweaking, but this is supposed to, from memory, excel at both vintage and modern high gain distortion tones - but mostly guys like Electric Wizard, Cathedral, Saint Vitus, etc. I'm not sure, but I think the Vintage/Modern selector goes from a scooped mids (vintage) to a more modern Doom sound with a pronounced midrange. I'm sure there is more to it than that, but that's what Roy had in mind when we spoke about it last April.

Greenhouse should totally have their own forum here. It's the perfect place for them. Fucking awesome gear.

Re: What is in the post? The thread of and for GAS!
Not sure. I've never played that one. It's quite possible.
I've just watched the PGS video. That sounds more raspy and octave-y than what I have in my mind. I mean, obviously I've not played the pedal yet. Roy was going to send me a prototype to test and review for him, but for whatever reason we didn't go through with it. I was honoured he'd entrust me with that. The original Soundcloud file I heard was wicked—think a modified Boss MT-2—but it was scooped and nasty sounding; thinner than a Big Muff and more like a distortion. I can't find the clip now and I imagine the circuit has changed a lot in a year. This is all speculation because I don't know any more details or tried it out yet. I know I'll be picking one up, that's fo shizzle.

I never understood how they were supposed to win bread? Was that what the designer was paid in? Was Ovation out of money, hired a hobo and told him that left over bread from the staff BBQ was all the guy was getting for it?
