i restrung my shit
and lubed with graph per your notes
so i got the cobalts on now
i was usin the reg not evens
and theres quite a bit of awesome difference
they def got a different feel to them
but the highs come thriugh real nicely
prob for you is unwound 3rd
but if yer gonna get a bunch of wounds
give the cobalts a try
theres somethin about the way that 3rd rings out
and also its clank when you mute it
cant give that up for comfort

Awesome!!!!! Glad it worked out!!! What's funny is the cobalt version of the strings i currently use...... includes a wound G
I just don't wanna pay near 10$ per set of strings, I can 2 normal sets and 2 loose wound G's for the same price. And with 3 guitars using those strings I tend to go through them alot so its quantity over quality.Iommic Pope wrote: Skip, you rule. Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
What do you guys do as far as practicing goes?
This seems an applicable to the doom room heavies since y'all, like me, like to play loud.
I ask because a band I'm in was practicing with a new drummer yesterday. Just drum and guitars in the basement of the house. Wifey said it was really loud. It was definitely not that loud. It's just heavy-ish hardcore stuff tuned to drop c so there's a fair deal of low end. Wifey thinks one of the neighbors came by and pounded on the door/rang the doorbell. She wasn't about to deal with it as we just bought our house in November.
Good news is that we won't regularly practice in my basement but I'm also interested in being able to play loudly when nobody is home to be bothered by it (the wife) but it seems I have the neighbors to deal with, now. Any of you guys have any diy home solutions? Or do most of you just have practice space?

Kinda excited.

Tis!!!! I've been pondering a pedalboard for the big rig, something simple like a dirt and a delay. This fills the dirt need perfectly. Verellen gain through a Dunwich Amp, FUCKING WIN.
(not to knock your dirt pedals at all Nick but it's kinda cool to have tube circuits from both top amp builders) Now to save up for a Moog MF-104m..... and an 8 string Agile.....
