So many sick amps in this thread
I don't think I've seen another DSL in here before, I dunno if it's actually a good amp or I just got really lucky but it sounds better to me than pretty much anything sub-$1500 new (keep in mind everything is expensive in Australia).

I played my newest guitar purchase through a DSL - first time I'd played one - and I really liked it. That slightly overdriven sounds slays. Also, looks so much cooler with that cabinet than the usual black Marshalls.

I keep it on the clean channel with the volume dimed and adjust the gain based on how loud I need to be. Gets an awesome clean tone and takes dirt pedals really well (all pedals, really). The crunch channel is great too, shame it isn't footswitchable.
Yeah I really dislike the typical black cabinets, this one is the 1960AX with G12M's.

No holy grail status luck required but there can be a pretty mad rush when amps come available. Just keep a close eye on the FB page here: http://www.facebook.com/Hovercraftamps

He'll post available amps on occasion, usually a few at at time, with a pic, description, spec list, and price. Shoot him an email and go from there. I contacted late night about mine, first evening it became available, and got a response early the next morning. It was paid for and shipped by that afternoon. I've emailed on many others though and either didn't hear back or heard there was a long list of interested customers for that particular amp, then never heard back. Gotta get 'em when the getting's good I guess. :thumb:

Just huge sounding, tons of gain on tap with more bass than I'd ever need. Stunned by how loud and no nonsense it sounds for a little 20W guy. Didn't spend much time messing with pedals, amp sounds fantastic on it's own, that old school Model T in the early gain stages and converting to a more vintage Orange OR/Matamp flavor when you start piling on the gain, just a thick almost fuzzy tone going on.

I did however molest it with a Black Forest and Hoof and it sounded like thunder of the gods was going off late night in my basement jam spot. I had to turn down or risk waking the family and listening to my girl bitch so I did the right thing. Excited to really get it cooking today at the buddy's jam spot where anything goes as far as late night volume. :thumb:

Needless to say, I'm sold on the sonics of Hovercraft. These amps sound incredible and priced between $550-$625, hard to pass up.

Mine is very similar to fallen's I believe, only with the addition of a FAC switch a brushed aluminum faceplate as opposed to white.

They were built by Andy Marshall owner of THD for Kieth Richards for the Steel Wheels tour. Andy was the guitar tech for that tour. A few years later Keith gave them back to Andy. I bought them off of Andy about 10 years ago... Only me & Keith has used them.

Keith wanted a 4x10 sound - but big enough to do arenas. At the time he was running his 50's Fender Tweed Twin's with these cabs..It has been years since I have done a arena show so right now they are sitting about 3 feet from me....

Once when bring them to a bar gig the sound guy tells me to turn them down before I plug them in...
