3 albums that shaped your musical identity.

I'm sure this has been done before, but who cares? Three listening experiences that altered your trajectory in lasting/seemingly permanent fashion - let's confine "listening experiences" to the "album" realm, lest we derail ourselves completely.

My chronological order:
Bitches Brew by Miles Davis
The Minor Threat Complete Discography
Aida by Derek Bailey

Hatebreed- Satisfaction is the Death of Desire
Man Is the Bastard- DIYCD
KTL- S/T

I changed it a little bit. The first KTL disc is probably THE MOST important album to me in the black metal/noise/drone genres

Wow, you guys are listing some good ones.

Unfortunately, I can't constrain my list to just three.

Yep. Exackly. I might be able to get it down to under ten... but not by much... :picard:

Oh, man. I'll try:
Iron Lung - Sexless // No Sex
Michael Jackson - Thriller
And movies. Can't name soundtracks in particular, I just watch a shit ton of movies and I always enjoy how a lot of the music is purposefully meant to evoke an emotion while not necessarily having structure/repeating motifs.

Yeah, my third one is probably cheating.

The White Album - The Beatles
In the flat field - Bauhaus
Either Marquee Moon by Television or Imaginational Anthem; both were equally influential on my playing style and musical tastes.

It's the perfect combination of Drone, Noise, Sample, and artistic interpretation of music. I bought black one first and loved it, but White 1+2 totally sold me on them as an artistic entity (are they really a "band"?)
