my topic took a nice turn a while back
and i still have it and haven't thought about changing it for anything in that year
for me, it's probably one of the "ultimates"
I make pedal demos as East Stomp Boutique - http://www.youtube.com/c/eaststompboutique

I would have to agree. I've never played with anything that has such a full and responsive sound and plays so well with everything else. It doesn't like my kill kill filter to much, it makes the best worst fuzz sound ever when they're combinedDarkAxel wrote: it's probably one of the "ultimates"

i have a big muff pi but i find that my amp (peavey vtm 60) gets a better tone for what im doing now. i do love some fuzz though. still holding out for AEN and his Eau Claire Thunder.ryan summit wrote:not TOO FancyCoolName wrote:right now it's nothing TOO fancy but:

but seems fancy enough

DADGBD wrote:I dig the SuperBolt. First impressions were a little, "well, yeah... it's an overdrive... it's a bit different... crazy loud... very bright and clear-sounding..."; BUT... frankly, it lacked the character of the Fuck. There's something about the F that seems to click with my Jazzmaster, Bassman and these ears. Anyway, the SuperBolt is my cold, bright, cutting OD (which it does VERY well - and apparently, that seems to be it's character); and the F is my dirty girl... hahahahahahahaha... FWIW, the SuperBolt stacked with the Rangemaster is just BRUTAL in the best way - and with the guitar's tone-knob dialed all the way back, that combo is all kinds of awesome too.
We have the same guitar amp combo & my experience with those two pedals is about the same. I've had a lot of fun running the SuperBolt into the Fuck & messing w the gain settings on each. Gets pretty nasty but still super responsive. Throw on the Bloom or Super Puzzle on top & it's blown out awesomeness. SuperBolt certainly does not lack high end, I generally keep the tone around 10 o'clock.

...not that I'd recommend anybody buy a JHS pedal. i bought it before I knew their backstory. Pretty icky.

not to dig up too much dirt but they have copied some other designs and claimed them as their own
Devi specifically
but most of their pedals are just overpriced clones

I missed the drama too - but got caught up quickly after I got mine. I traded it for a TS808, so meh... I'm not sweatin' it.hbombgraphics wrote:CoolName wrote:what's the backstory? must be kinda bad...sultanofswig wrote:...not that I'd recommend anybody buy a JHS pedal. i bought it before I knew their backstory. I recommend people use whatever sounds good to them.sultanofswig wrote:...not that I'd recommend anybody buy a JHS pedal. i bought it before I knew their backstory. Pretty icky.
But personally, I will not purchase from or support JHS out of principle.
Not interested in what they're selling.

I'll leave this here...
http://www.runoffgroove.com/sd.html
Seems to tick off most of the features of the pedal
http://www.runoffgroove.com/sd-pcb.pdf

Guts seem to line up with the parts list too...
Has an internal voltage step-up to run off 9V instead of the Supreaux's 18 volts but aside from that similar
Although it doesn't seem to be a direct clone it's pretty similar...

I don't really have a clue of what I'm looking
but I understand that this is not as original as I thought it was
